Clairvoyance is awesome for helping with ganks which lead to kills. ANd stealing drag/baron/buffs with well-timed skills.



I once Clair'd a blue the enemy was working on, only to have my team steal it. Very funny.

basicly 3-4 auto attacks=smite, giving that up for flash, ghost, ignite ,exhaust, or clairy is basicly asking for deaths that could have been saved by one of these and all you would have to do is wait for lower creep health to last hit. this will help you learn how to get a good cs without pushing your lane to far.

I only use Smite as a non-jungler spell when I play 3v3's as Dr. Mundo. Smite becomes useless during the later game, so there are more viable spells for you to choose.

Uh... smite in lane? I've never even heard of that. And nearly everyone runs at least one escape spell. You're doing it wrong if you don't have Flash, basically.

A smite is just gonna kill a minion.
Think about it: which would you prefer:
Last hitting a minion with Plentiful Bounty which gives you 5 + (minion amount) gold
OR
Using Flash/Ghost/Heal/Cleanse to save your own life and to stop an opponent from potentially getting 500 gold by icing your killing spree?

The only reason smite is "good" for on a laner is for counter jungling/stealing buffs. Just place wards on the enemy red or blue whichever is by your lane, and when the enemy jungler least expects it you kill him(if the jungler is low hp) or simply steal his buff with a well timed smite. Even so, clairvoyance will screw the enemy jungler more, because you will not always be able to kill the jungler/steal his buff, but you can easily find them. If you are not good at telling where someone will be at and when you can always CV where your jungler is in their side of the map, if they both took same/similar routes there will be high odds for you to find them.

whats more useless? +5 gold every 60 seconds with improved smite, or the .66% crit for a support character, or a mage that has bad auto attacks? Laning smite is EXTREMELY situational, but its an extra ward every 2-3 minutes, and whoever your baby sitting wont be able to hit every minion so your not even really stealing last hits.

Free gold gets more wards, which last far longer then CY and you still have more income as a support for gear which is always a plus.
