I've been playing Xin Zhao a lot lately, and I'm wondering which is more viable. Building him semi tanky, or just all out attack speed & attack damage?

I'm also wondering what runes are best for him. At the moment, I have flat AS seals, arpen marks/quints, and CDR per lvl glyphs.

Building glass cannon on a melee character is just plain stupid (unless you're Tryndamere).

If you are a pretty farmed solo laner and they have lots of squishies, go glass canon. If you are jungling and they have lots of tough guys, go tanky. But with mercs Banshee, with his ult xin is really hard to focus down, so you don't have to be THAT tanky.

You cannot dive tower, doublekill, and walk out with 25% hp or above if you build glass cannon.

Your ulti makes going glass cannon bad; you want to hit five people with a AOE ulti with YOURSELF as the center, which translates to you being almost melee range with 5 enemies.

You get pwned by disables just like every other squishy and is more prone to get disabled because of the above.

You will die before your W causes your skills to refresh if you go glass cannon.

Glass cannon is bad unless you are smurfing against noobs.

Even Tryndamere should at least have a merc tread or QSS, maybe even GA to be any useful against a coordinated team.

However, it is actually okay to get only a Warmog + Atmas combo and get dps items/boots to fill the other slots.

Also, a tanky dps Xin can easily beat a glass cannon xin because of raduins/frozen heart/ghostblade granting 40% cdr + lots of armour + lots of reduction to attack speed. Because Xin does not have built-in escape mechanism, glass cannon xin will lose every time.

It is fine for Early/mid game ganks against 1 or 2 opponents.

Time to sell it for Merc tread if teamfight starts happening.

Rather save the money and from buying -> selling and stay on Mercs and get that early Recurve Bow
