When installing League of Legends on Windows Vista or Windows 7 do not install Riot Games in the Program Files directory. Choosing the default directory or any other non-Program Files directory should work fine.

Also make sure you have the latest Windows service packs installed.

I have Vista x64 Ultimate - IVe turned that nasty tool called "UAC" User ACcess Control... off a while ago..

does UAC alo bork games going into /progam files / x86 ?.. was just curious if that was what was putting the odd rights on those x86 folders.. thank-u

I have windows 7 x64, and i installed first to my custom directory (C:\Games\League of Legends), and that didnt work even though i tried compability mode. So i reinstalled it and chose full (default) and let it install to its chosen directory and then everything worked.
