### 2 Doors 2 Guards

Senior Member

There are 2 guards guarding 2 doors. One door leads to hell and all that is bad, the other to heaven and all that is good. One guard lies all the time, the other tells the truth all the time. Both guards are identical and can not be distinguished from another.

You can only ask 1 question to get to the door with all the good things, what do you ask?

If I ask the other guard if his door leads to Heaven, will he say Yes?

this should be in off topic really, however - ask them 'do you want to play league of legends instead of guarding these doors' as they both obviously would want to, the 'good' guard would say yes - correct door the 'bad' guard would say no (because he wants to answer yes but must lie) therefore you would not pick this door. problem solved

edit: failing that, if you wanted a correct answer, just ask the guards 'are you twins' (since you specified they were as one of the conditions) the one who says yes is the correct door. either that or just insert another generic question 'are you both male' 'are you both taller than a house' or something stupid, the object is to get a question that has an answer that YOU know this way you can tell which guard is truthful and which isn't.

"And here we have the labyrinth guards. One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions."

You ask which door the other guard would take, then take the other.

FYI, you don't know which one is guarding which door. The liar good be guarding the good door, or the honest one could.
