NOTICE - Be Sure to have the latest install of IE and latest updates to IE9 even if you use firefox or Google Crome, due to League of legends nature it requires these updates at least!, be sure to have them even if you don't use them

Avast it has live protection, even on the free account - http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download (Free download)

Also may I suggest Firefox with a few addons, - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

if the addon's down below do not support firefox 4, Downgrade it to 3 until firefox does support them, check the addon page to find out if supported by 4 or not
Still searching for a Older version of firefox other then 4, if anyone has the link please provide it if you would be so kind

addons that I recommend for avoiding infections

"No Script" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/
"Addblocker plus" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
"browser protect" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/browserprotect/
"WoT" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wot-safe-browsing-tool/
"Redirect remover" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/redirect-remover/

These are all very small and very helpful when protecting your self from being hijacked or infected

I also recommend Spybot search and destroy with latest updates (Tea Timer) with "Immunization" Turned on - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Always use the Rule of thumb, Do your research and double check the Links before hand, These will not promise you full protection but they help, WoT Gives Reputation on sites, anything with a low rep I'd Avoid unless you personally know its safe

If your not sure about a "Zip" - "Exe" or whatever file you just downloaded you can always Upload it to

http://www.virustotal.com/ To check for infections, do not click on the exe or unzip the zip or whatever if your "NOT SURE!"
