About Ashe
Note: This Build is an AD (Attack Damage) Crit and Attack Speed build designed for mid during the laning phase of the game.

Ashe is the leader of one of the 3 Tribes of Freljord. He specialty is Frost related attack which can slow an enemy down for the kill. A lot of people see Ashe as a weak squishy character. And if not built right this is a very true fact. But if built correctly, she can take down even the strongest of Champions in late game almost entirely by herself.

Stats

Quote:
Damage 46.3 (+2.85 / per level)
Health 359 (+79 / per level)

Frost Shot [Q]
Quote:
While active, each of Ashe's basic attacks slow her targets. This drains Mana with each attack.
Note: This ability is toggled as it uses 8 mana per shot.So turn it off when not in use.

Volley [W]
Quote:
Ashe fires 7 arrows in a cone for increased damage. Volley also applies Ashe's current level of Frost Shot.
Hawk Shot [R]

Quote:
Each time Ashe kills a unit, she gains some extra gold. Ashe can activate to send her Hawk Spirit on a scouting mission.
Enchanted Crystal Arrow [R]

Quote:
Fires a large arrow in a straight line. If it hits an enemy champion, it will deal 250/425/600 (+1) magic damage and stun that champion for up to 3.5 seconds, based on the distance the arrow traveled. Additionally, surrounding units take half the damage and are slowed by up to 35% for 3/4/5 seconds.
Ability Order

With Ashe, you want you volley at full capacity as quickly as possible, you frost shot after that followed by your hawk shot and ECA as you go. So, when leveling the abilities, here it is.

Core Build

Starting Item:
Quote:
Doran's Blade: Attain this at the start of the game. "+100 Health +9 Damage +3% Life Steal". This will give you an added edge when soloing a lane and if the enemy Champion retreats, it will allow you a way to slowly heal when without health potions.

Tip: Sell this item towards the end of the game when gold is more readily available and other, more powerful items are required.
(The following two items, while apart of the core build are situational as to which to attain first. If you are able to maintain the lane long enough to recieve the 1850 gold to buy the B.F. Sword do so, if not and your lacking in attack speed. Go for the Berserker;s Greaves.)

Boots:
Quote:
The Recommended build will tell you to attain Boots of Swiftness. While yes, these will give you an added +3 to movement speed. There is a better option: Berserker's Greaves Ashe is stronger the higher her attack speed. So rushing these either before or after Infinity Edge. (Depending in the requirements of the situation i.e. fighting a fellow Ashe or Champion with high attackspeed.) is extremely useful.
Infinity Edge
Quote:
The pivotal item for a successful Ashe. "+75 Attack Damage +20% Critical Strike UNIQUE Passive: Critical hits now deal 250% damage instead of 200%"

Combined with other items in the core build, as well as Ashe's passive. This item really shines in late game as well as making enemy champs think twice before approaching you in the later parts of early and mid game.
Phantom Dancer
Quote:
Phantom Dancer is essential for some avid Ashe player. In combination with the previously attained Infinity Edge, your damage will be somewhere around the 130-150 mark. You are also moving 15% faster as well taking your movement speed up to about 423. "+55% Attack Speed +30% Critical Strike +15% Movement Speed"
The Blood Thirster

Quote:
"+60 Attack Damage +15% Lifesteal Passive: Gain an additional 1 Physical Damage and 0.25% Lifesteal per kill. Maximum of +40 Damage and 10% Lifesteal. Bonuses are lost upon death"

The item's description speaks for itself. Not only are you hitting harder? But your regenerating any damage you are taking. In the later stages of mid game to late game. You are able to solo dragon by yourself. Not an easy feat with Ashe. But with this build you are able to take Dragon down in about 15 - 20 seconds. Aslo, at this point you criting 90% for 500 - 525 damage.
Situational Items

Depending on the situation at hand, there are a few items which can be particularly useful. With Ashe's continuous critical strikes the higher your attack speed, the more probability that you will destroy anyone you come up against. These items are acquired in the late to end game phase of the game.

Youmuu's Ghostblade

Quote:
This item may sound like an odd choice for an Ashe. However, let look at the stats:
"+30 Attack Damage +15% Critical Chance UNIQUE Passive: +20 Armor Penetration 15% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE Active: You gain +20% movespeed and +50% attack speed for 4 seconds. Attacking enemy units with melee attacks increases..."

This Item is good for use against tanks. As your critical strike is almost constant, the damage dealt against Tanks is reduced due to their armor. The Younuu's Ghostblade aid in combating that wall. And if need be, it can be activated to give you added attack speed.
Sword of the Divine
Quote:
"+60% Attack Speed UNIQUE Passive: Every fourth attack deals 100 extra Magic Damage. UNIQUE Active: Your attacks cannot be dodged and you gain 30 Armor Penetration for 8 seconds"

When i said in the title of "Ashe: The Moving Turret" This weapon right here is the key to it all. A good item to combat the greater majority of enemy type you come up against. SotD's +60% attack speed, combined with the Phantom Dancer's 55% attack speed, gives you a massive +115% attack speed. This will bring your attack speed up to around 1.91 - 1.959.
Banshee's Veil
Quote:
Banshee's Veil is extremly good when fighting mages with spells like Morgana's Dark Binding. The item blocks one negative spell and gives you an added +50 Magic Resist as well as buffing your health and Mana.
Nashor's Tooth
Quote:
"+50% Attack Speed +55 Ability Power +10 Mana Regeneration per 5 UNIQUE Passive: Reduces ability cooldowns by 25%"

This item is extremely good to give you ECA some added "BAM!" when you hit an enemy champion as the arrow is scaled with AP. On top of that it reduces the cool down of the arrow as well as refills the man you just used to fire off that arrow in 15 seconds.
Game Progression

Early Game

Quote:
Two word are essential at this phase of the game. "LAST HIT!"

Last hitting minions is the fastest way to earn the money you need for this build. With Ashe's Hawk Shot giving you added gold per/ kill per/ ability level. the more minions you last hit the faster you get your items and the more you starve your opponent of both gold and level as the less minions you have, the lower your ability to push.

TIP: Never over extend yourself in early game. You didn't activate Hawk Shot just for the gold. It also uncovers areas that would other wise be blind to you. Situational awareness is key for a good Ashe. As you are weaker than most Champions, you are easily ganked if you are not paying attention to your surroundings. Occasionally check the common surrounding gank spots for trouble with your HS. More often than not, if you use it right you will see trouble coming along way off and be able to evade them with ease.

Items: Doran's Blade, B.F. Sword, Berserker's Greaves, Zeal
Mid Game

Quote:
Mid Game is where it's time to push your lane, or aid your allies push theirs harder. During mid game, a more defensible style of play is required. Allow your minions to do a lot of the work in pushed and stay back to ensure you do not over extend. Again, place hawk shots on common spots when able. As enemy champs begin to realize what your doing, pull back, and move to an area where your fellow allies are close at hand.

Items: Doran's Blade, Infinity Edge, Berserker's Greaves, Phantom Dancer, B.F. Sword
End Game

Quote:
This is where it counts. by now, if all has gone well you have 2/3rd's of your build constructed.Team fights are becoming a more common occurrence. While you are strong in attack damage and speed. You are still quite squishy. Instigating team fights with Ashe can be done from behind the group instead of charging in like a tank will. Opening a fight with your ECA on a solitary character can be quite good. Hitting a ground of enemy champions will stun the one that takes the direct hit of the arrow followed by their allies receiving half damage and the slow of the arrow. Follow that up b a volley. If you took the Sword of the Divine, you will be able to chase down and kill champions quite easily by activating your frost shot to slow your opponent and all the while you are filling them full of lovely arrows of ice.

Items: (Situational items) Berserker's Greaves. Infinity Edge, Phantom dancer, The Blood Thirster, (Situational Item)

Turrets are weak why would you want to be a moving turret?

Not too sure Sword of the Divine is a great idea. It's bonus attack speed is good, but the active only lasts for 8 seconds and is very situational to counter a dodging champ, and I'm pretty sure the passive won't be that great if you have no magic penetration. On a standard hero with his natural 30 magic resist, that's pretty much 75 damage every four hits (instead of 100). Worse, that 100 dmg won't ever crit, since it's magic damage.

Wouldn't Last Whisper or Stark be more effective? Their Armor penetration/reduction are more reliable than SotD's active, and this should really improve your damage output in the long run.

About the rest of the guide, I find it well structured, though a bit brief where it matters (gameplay and strategies).

You entitle your guide "ASHE the TANK KILLER" yet you do not mention building a madreds.. you should probably reconsider this omission.
Also, a bloodthirster on Ashe is meh at best.. shes not MF, she's Ashe. She is way too squishy to worry about lifesteal b/c if you play her right she should not be getting attacked in the first place.. Replace this item with Black Cleaver (especially if you want to be a "tank killer")

I imagine the Bloodthirster is included mostly for the max 100 AD. The lifesteal is more of a bonus. I wouldn't omit it from any Ashe build.

The Berserker's Greaves are great against stupid opponents, but against skilled players Ashe really needs the Boots of Swiftness to kite away from enemy ganks.

Madreds. That was the item i couldnt remember. Thank you for reminding me, however like SotD, it deals magic damage so this comes down to the same effect as Jebbou claims. that with out Magic penetration. It really looses it's effect. As for blood thirster. Either that or black cleaver are great options. I've seen either or even both used in really effective ashes.

As for sword of the Divine. It's put in the situational items section for the simple fact that its used based on whats needed to be more effective.

In order for Ashe to be a tank killer, she needs Last Whisper. Period.

Any tank worth their salt is going to stack plenty of MR and Armor, so stacking magic damage proc items is not a good idea, since the MR of the tanks will reduce any damage generated by such items significantly.

It would be better to focus on AD, and then have a LW so when you crit for 400 base damage every other attack, it doesn't get reduced as much.

Try a build with IE, PD, LW, & your preferred choice of boots to see what I mean.

Again, any tank who is doing their job does not stack only HP...he stacks health and resistances, and the most cost-effective penetration item for Ashe is LW.

Here's how i do it with Ashe...I do rather well

Remember, to start with, Ashe is support with frost arrows, and volley for laning creeps. Your hit power/hero killing shows up mid to end game. Primary goals of this build are 1 runspeed, 2 attack speed. 3. survival by runspeed.

Regrowth pendant to start, let's you stay in lanes longer. period. better than dorans anything, the damage dorans gives you is minuscule at best, lifesteal is a joke, and you will regen 100 health with the pendant much more than storing it for burst damage on you. just take the pendant gives and stay there longer, remember, you're support untill volley and frost arrows are maxed anyway.

Then get berzerkers boots, runspeed and attackspeed. the more you hit enemies with frost arrows, the less likely they will get away.

Then work on phantom dancer. Runspeed and attack speed again. let's you keep the frrost arrows landing on just about anyone, letting your team kill them as they try to run away.

Then infinity edge. by now your hawkshot is getting you serious cash from lane creeps (kill 5, get 1 free). Start with the cloak of agility, maximize your crit. then pickaxe, the damage bump is incremental, and multiplied by your crit, then finish with the BF sword.

Then blood thirster. If you get the same results i do, you should be hitting for 600+ damage on crits, and critting about 50% of the time, if not more.

By now the enemies are realizing your a real threat, you need survival. game is usually starting the endgame by this point. Turn your regroth pendant into Warmogs armor. This keeps you focused on killing creeps. you get oodles of cash, extra damage fromt he Bloodthirster, and health and health regen from the armor...see the synergy?

Finally, finish off your damage god love with either a 2nd bloodthirster, or black cleaver depending on how many tanks WITH armor your up against. If you have tanks, but no armor...just get the 2nd bloodthirster. games usually over anyway, since you can destroy a turret quicker than they can go "WTF is ashe doing over there", or your teammates can go "****it ashe, stop shooting the tower and hel....ohh, it's already down". Remember, you win when the throne is dead, not when the enemies are.

My runes are Quints are runspeed, red is crit chance, yellow is dodge, blue is cooldown reduction by level.

My masteries. 2/3 good hands, 3/3 perseverence, 4/4 expanded mind. 3/3 meditation, Greed (filler here), 3/3 quickness, 3/3 deadliness, 2/3 archmages savvy, 4/4 alacrity, 3/3 sunder, and 2/3 brute force. Runspeed, Attack speed are primary goals to fit your build above best. With dancers your as fast as teemo w/quickness. the mana regen let's you keep pelting enemies with arrows, and damage is last goal with masteries.

I take Flash, and Ghost for spells. Flash is great overall utility of escaping of pursuing, so is ghost. Exhaust is useless with frost arrows, ignite requires shorter range than your arrows, exposes you too danger. cleanse sometimes is useful, but remember, you have quick feet with this build, with flash you can get out of danger quickly anyway.

Anyway, i hope this helps anyone trying to learn how to play a simple hero like ashe, but doing it successfully.

Let the hate begin, but this is a solid build that works in 99% of any games.

I agree, madreds is not good on ashe. Stay with AD damage, hit hard, hit fast. use AD for it all. AP on ashe dilutes her abilities.
