Aura from ability or item that says to affect nearby allied units, but does the aura affect yourself?

An example item: Aegis of the Legion.

Yes, you do get the Aura effect. It also does not counts against your "only affected by an aura once" limit. Thus, if You and a teammate both have an Aegis (and you are in range of each other), yo would bot gt double the aura effect (once for your teammate as an "aura" and once for your own item). I believe this explained in better detail up in the sickies.
