What would happen if using Dark Passage cost the user (ex: the ADC) Mana...

Or

A: Removes 50% of their current whatever.

B: Puts all abilities on half their Cooldown (meaning, if the Ability has a 10 sec Cooldown and it was currently off Cooldown, using Dark Passage puts it on Cooldown for 5 seconds). Or even full Cooldown. Not ults though.

C: Health.

How to balance for champs without AP such as Renekton/Shyvana/etc who have no resource system or perhaps a champ like Lee/Shen/Zed/etc who have energy?

That would probably affect the popularity of ADCs more than it would affect how often Thresh is played.

Then make the resource a percentage of health.

More than likely, but then Dark Passage couldn't be used as much because it would actually cost something.

Want to kill Thresh support? Go ahead.


People use the lantern to get people over walls, into fights, etc. as well as rescue.

> Brings assassin over a wall into teamfight
options:
> Comes into fight with a chunk of HP missing
> Comes into fight with all abilities on cooldown
> Comes into fight with a chunk of Mana/Energy/etc missing

> Throws lantern
> Can't use lantern to save someone who is about to die, the exact reason the lantern is used, due to shortage of HP/mana
> Give them an even bigger reason to have to go back to base.

You're citing the exact reasons why Lantern really should have some sort of cost.

There's really no logical reason that I can think of that one ability has so much flexibility for no cost other than to Thresh.

I kind of agree that it should be an ultimate, except then you'd have to rely on your teammates for your ultimate to do anything.

Honestly it should just be an ally-targeted pull, but "muh abuse"
