We listen to player feedback on Champions to make free, and we introduce new Champions on a regular basis. Those two factors make it hard to have a set rotation that repeats every 8 weeks or so (which is I assume what you're implying about a pattern).

It seems to me that the more expensive champions (6300 IP) aren't free to play as often. Is there a reason for this? I know that some of them are considered more difficult to play but that seems all the more reason that we should be allowed to test them out before buying. I got lucky with Cassiopeia and Anivia, because I love them both after buying them without a "test drive" first but I can imagine I'd be very upset if I spent that much IP on a champion that turned out to not fit my play style or not "click" properly. Having to wait so long just to be able to try them once seems like it would discourage people from playing them at all.

I think it would be cool if you had a roatation where it had the champions that were in the season one video

I hope that barring unusual circumstances, new characters are always free for a week (I could see keeping them in for their first 2 weeks making sense even.)

Beyond that, I think balance (across roles/types of champions rotated in a given week), variety, and relative uniformity (no champion should go for an exceptionally long time w/o being available relative to others) are all that really matters. While it's true that the free champions of a given week are most likely to be played by those new to the champions, and thus in some cases, more likely to feed, there is no where else for players to learn those champions, so I think the only thing to do here is trust to the matchmaking system to work out reasonable teams more or less, and trust to individuals to make balanced choices of characters within the lobby.
I dont know if you think of it from thier view, they want to help every player out but to keep them playing they would have to have some champions that are either rarely rotated or you have to buy them to play them, just for the fact to keep people playing, yes people would play long if they had the champ of their dreams right away but they would play even longer to make enough ip to get the champ they want, this is my opinion just to help you see different insight dont take offense, but riot needs to make some form of currency, and like me when maokai came out i watched the champion spotlight and rushed to gamestop to get an RP card for maokai and a skin thats just my thoughts i hoped it help
