I honestly like sion as he is(he rules on 3v3) but I keep seeing people complain he needs a rework and even riots complain hes not what they wanted him to be. Thought I'd try my hand at making him more in the spirit of a titanous initiator that leads his allies into the fray

Q: Deathwatch
Blasts a single enemy dealing 70/125/180/240/300 (+90% Ability Power) magic damage and silencing them for 3 seconds. For 3 seconds all allies(including Sion and minions) will have 40 increased movement speed while moving in that enemies direction. Minions, neutral monsters, and allies summons will prioritize this target.
Cost: 60 Mana
Range: 550

W: Death's Caress
Sion surrounds himself with a shield which absorbs 100/150/200/250/300 (+90% Ability Power) damage. For 10 seconds, all damage Sion takes increases his tenacity by 10%(this stacks). If shield is not destroyed, cast again after 4 seconds to manually detonate shield, dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+90% Ability Power) magic damage to surrounding enemies and tenacity buff is removed.
Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 Mana
Range: Self

E:Enrage
Sion steals 1/1.5/2/2.5/3% attack damage, attack speed, and movement speed per a hit from everyone he hits for 10 seconds. If Sion kills enemies while this is active he gains 3 health permenantly. Bonus is doubled if enemy killed was large creep or champion.
Cost: None for activating but 6/8/10/12/14 Health per Attack
Range: Self

R:Cannibalism
Grants Sion 50/75/100% Life Steal and his basic attack hits as an aoe that applies on hit effects for 10 seconds. Additionally, Sion's basic attacks heal surrounding allies(including minions and allied summons) for 25/37.5/50% of the damage dealt.
Cost: 100 Mana
Range: Self


I replaced his hard CC because I felt it wasnt in flavor. His soft CC still takes care of removing escape tools while allowing him and his whole team to engage.

I love death's caress mechanics and how they give the player options, so I didnt want to change to much. Now it will no longer explode if you dont trigger it, but triggering it removes the buff I added that would've persisted even if the shield is destroyed. If you're leading the charge into battle I felt tenacity was very important and if the shield gets bursted out as tends to happens to initiators its still useful. Also the increased tenacity is useful for making sure sion stays on people hes caught and can keep hitting them for synergy with his other abilities.

I altered enrage so its a more active ability that the player has to decide whens the best time to use. It helps keep Sion engaged to a target hes caught up with as well as duel. Timing is everything with the new Enrage and yet it still retains some of its old ability to escalate.

Finally the ult has been reworked into an aoe thats akin to hydra so Sion can go toe to toe with multiple enemies. If hes going in first he needs a hella survivability against a whole team. In exchange his ults duration has been cut in half and hes lost the attackspeed that came with it. Unlike hydra the aoe applies on hit affects so as to synergize with enrage as well.

Interesting, to say the least. I would agree with this change, save for the fact that Riot is changing him to an AD tank/ fighter. Also (in regards to your changes), the hard CC on Sion's stun made up for the massive mana drain that it did. Death's Caress was great, but it didn't help with the mana problem.
It's cool, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't offer enough of a change that will make him the top/jung that I miss him as (ya, I play Sion. Miss him dearly.).

There are two other Sion reworks I've been looking at (Just for ideas. Do what you want.).
