The leap part of it is nothing more than animation making it look badass. His ult could just as easily be him flying directly at the enemy and slashing horizontally...but that wouldn't be as cool.

Except it would be.

While it doesn't look like a straight-forward dash, you are technically doing the same thing movement wise according to the game as a dash such as Fiora's Q. Any ability that moves your character to a target is disabled by a snare.

The same concept applies to abilities such as Tristana's rocket jump. While she lobs herself to the landing point, her actual root point is sliding across the ground to the point of impact.

But Darius has a pretty good range with his ult without moving even a step. So can't you find a technique that allows him to cast his ult if the target is close enough, while preventing it from being casted if he is snared and the target is far away?

It makes no sense that an enemy stands nearly in you and you can not cast it cause you are snared.

And why can't we cast dashes like Rivens or Shens when snared? Disable the movement part when snarred, but keep the effects (shield or taunting). Some people may want to have the dahes disabled so that they can't accidentaly cast them when snared and lose the mobility after they are free from the snare, but overall i think it would be way more interresting to se interactions with mobility skills even when snared. That doesn't count only for these free mobility skills. But Alistar kicking someone right next to him away when he is snared, without moving, would be great.

I think, disabling the mobility skills was a good first step, but I always thought that you would go further and fine tune the system to allow more cool plays while also making it more logical.

sadly darius ult is a "gap closer" ability
but it's nowhere as frustrating as not being able to ult wukong until he uses his clone (that interaction should be fixed though)
if you put down a pink ward, then R wukong, he pops his clone, and you ult the clone despite having true sight of his cloning, it doesn't even at least interrupt your ult cast

That sucks.
What's also bad is akali goes from post 6 monster to pre 6 rape material.
