Overpopulation IS the problem. People try to make it seem like it's not but the fact is there are too many humans consuming too many resources. If we don't do something to reduce our numbers (and keep it that way) the earth will become a barren wasteland stipped of everything.

Population growth has slowed down i believe, and the answer is not things like civil war and poisoning people, but instead to drag countries like India into a more advanced state (with more technology, better education, and more food). This gives less incentive to have a large number of children, and more educated women are much less likely to have a large amount of kids(see japan).

Its not flame bait.. just making more light of a subject that people are "purposely" not made more aware of.

Whens the last time the overpopulation subject got airtime on the mass media news?

It does, anytime there is a debate on natural resources.

Luckily though, in most 1st world nations population growth is virtually stalled, or in some places even declining.

Population growth has slowed down in developed nations. But as for the undeveloped nations...

As others have pointed out population growth really isn't an issue in most developed nations. Many are either stable or declining. The problem is the various nations that are under-developed and still have explosive birth rates. If their quality of life and quality of education were improved they would probably follow the same trend of lower birth rates.
