Is Ryze considered a faceroll?
He obviously is one of the most op and easiest to play anyway.

He's a so called pubstomper. OP in beginner games, but weak if your entire teams knows how to play against him.

Most important thing to remember is that he has to get close to get all of his bounces off. You will only get hit once if you're too far away from him.

Most mages are considered "faceroll" because their burst damage comes from using all their abilities almost simultaneously. Thus, as the saying goes, all they have to do in order to get a kill is roll their face over the keyboard, activating all their abilities.

Beyond that, Controlled By Me is correct. Ryze tends to stop low leveled games because he's easy to pick up and no one really knows how to counter him. Once people learn a bit more about the game in general, Ryze tends to fall into obscurity.

I don't think Ryze or any champion in his current state is OP.

That being said:

Ryze pros:
-High Burst Damage
-You ultimate gives you AP
-If the enemy is grouped togehter you can deal some nutty damage with Speel Floux.
-Low CD (he is the spammer mage by nature, his passive was a mastery in the old beta, but was a extremely OP mastery on certain champions -Not on Ryze- )

Cons:
-Squishy as hell
-No survivability
-Lack of heavy CC (Like Annie/Anivia/Fidlesticks/Kennen/ AP Sion/)
-Lack of range you have to enter almost melee range to cast anything. This is very dangerous
-Not that easy to play (A good Ryze knows a few tricks, like, Lategame your spellflux is your biggest Teamfight tool, so you have to Cast Speel flux before ultimate, the ultimate affects Spell flux in middle air, so you can cut 1 second to reuse Spell flux (Ryze's passive), if you are fast enough you can even cast, W->W/Q->ultimate so you can cut 2 seconds or even 3 (but the animation will punish you with a few spell flux bounces w/o ultimate) His lack of survivability makes flash/ghost almost a must for him. Other mages have strong survivability tool, like Annie, AoE stun on low CD and a Shield. Anivia's Eggform, Vlad's sanguine pool, Kennen Stun and High MS, Fid AoE silence and Fear.

Have fun.
