"Kios." Whispered Varroq. "I apologize for holding back the last time we fought."

Varroq narrowed his eyes as Kios charged, and summoned a storm of metal to help bull his way across the arena. He followed it up with perfect; deadly strokes from his sword, each one imbued with the power to cleave a man in two. If any of those hit; Varroq was a deadman.

Varroq concentrated. This maneuver was delicate; but could potentially finish the match in one blow.
As the shuriken storm descended upon him, he opened a portal; and stepped through to appear behind, and most disconcertingly, three feet above Kios's head, bypassing the wall of steel and swordplay entirely.
As Varroq fell, he attempted to grab Kios neck; using the momentum of his fall to drive his head back into the ground behind him. If done correctly, the neck would snap; ending the fight in one blow.

"But this is the real me."

Kios had been ready for Varroq to teleport, in fact the shuriken were intended to force him to do just that. Yet he had not expected his opponent to appear above him. Still, he was ready. With blinding speed Kios turned and began cutting a figure eight in the path of Varroq's trajectory with one hand while drawing and throwing one of his knives. Normally the technique would leave the knife inaccurate, but its magically enhanced accuracy should compensate for that.

Again, he knew that Varroq could simply teleport away, but as Varroq had taught him, falling objects eventually reach deadly speed. Hitting the ground at that point would be ... unpleasant.

Here's your choice, friend: run yourself through in three different ways while your attempt is ruined or teleport away. Neither are very good choices are they?

Varroq grinned. Good. Very good... and yet so predictable.

The neck break was a long-shot anyway; Varroq had begun concentrating on a new destination even as he exited the original portal.
Varroq disappeared once again; and re appeared along Kios's original trajectory; the rain of shuriken now buzzing some ways away behing him.

Varroq knew what Kios had in mind. He intended to either drive him off or force him into a compromising position. The combination of medium range swordplay and long range projectiles was a good one; forcing ones enemy to keep at a distance or be obliterated.

However... long range projectiles were useless in close combat, and at this close, the strikes from Kios's long blade would barely contain enough whiff Varroq.

Varroq threw all the force of his re-entry into a single fist, and channeled it further still into a single finger, thrusting the finger into a pressure point in the shoulder of Kio's blade arm. The maneuver may look ridiculous to the uninitiated (see as it is basically a finger poke), but Varroq had hardened his fists beyond the limits of human endurance. With the momentum behind it, the finger would pierce Kio's armor and muscle alike; shattering bone and shredding nerve endings; effectively rendering Kio's sword arm useless.

I do hope you have something better than this Kios. At this rate, I will pick you apart.

Kios was perfectly willing to let Varroq show him more techniques. The tempo was steady, Varroq's efforts to slip behind him was all part of the flow of combat. He once again sidestepped and carried a crescent strike against the thrusting blow. The move was perfect against a thrust, but Varroq would know that. There was only one move that Varroq could do from this position....

Varroq grunted. D*mn, Kios was faster than ever.

Varroq spun into Kio's sidestep, transferring his momentum and centrifugal force into his elbow, and aimed a strike at Kio's neck fast enough for the minds of lesser men to question what their eyes had seen. He did this while allowing the tip of Kio's sword to slide off the Cestus of his opposite arm.

Varroq had to keep within Kios's reach.

Ah-ha! Perfect!

Kios continued the step, only a bit too slow. Jarred by the glancing blow on his arm, Kios took a hand off of his sword and reached into his cloak once more. Varroq had seen Kios do many things, but never use any of his thrown blades in melee. Kios hoped it would come as a surprise when he suddenly pulled out his Francesca and hacked at Varroq's exposed midsection while cutting a short, circular path with his blade. At the same time, he kicked at Varroq's knee, right above the greaves' protection.

One of the three had to hit.

"Too...slow!" Thought Varroq as he completed his elbow thrust at Kio's neck.

Symptoms if Successful:

Crushed Trachea, loss of breathing, loss of balance, followed by immediate and total shutdown of the brain over a five-second period.

Varroq barely caught the smaller blade in his other hand as he did so, while kicking at Kios's leg, depriving it of the raw power needed to throw his balance off. He would suffer a deep cut from Kio's main blade, but if all went well he would have just won the fight.

((We should probably wrap this up, though I have no idea how long these fights should last...))

Kios dropped both weapons and suddenly shifted styles. While he preferred, Varroq's close, ferocious attacks made its methods too dangerous. Instead he switched to the Ionian Enlightened Step. His leg stinging from Varroq's deflection, Kios ducked quickly under the elbow strike and came up behind Varroq's back, turning to keep pace with the heavier warrior. As he did so, Kios drew one of his alchemical capsules and brought it crashing down towards Varroq's body.

((Desired effect:

The capsule contains an alchemical fire substance. Pressure causes it to explode and ignite like napalm.))

Dragor was perched atop one of the masts, crouched down and with the Mistcloak hanging several feet lower than his footing, making his figure indiscernable from a distance and with the wind up there causing movements in the lower parts of his cloak, he seemed ghostly from the deck, even in broad daylight. In spite of the winds and the mast moving from side to side slightly, Dragor effortlessly balanced on it, while analyzing the combat taking place and keeping track of the position and actions of Skye.

None of the two in the arena would've been able to threaten Dragor if they had faced him with the equipment and tactics they had employed against one another. Kios would likely have been undone by his own very first assault, and fighting Varroq would be more like puppetteering an unwilling puppet than actually fighting, at least as long as he was wearing the cestus. In fact, the only piece of weaponry that could be as much as mildly threatening to Dragor that they had demonstrated so far was Kios' capsule.

If that capsule hit; Varroq would become a burning torch within seconds.

"Better him than me..."

Varroq quickly created a portal causing the capsule to pass through, while opening an exit on a trajectory towards Kios's back. At the same time, Varroq aimed a kick at Kios, attempting to stun him so that the capsule would hit.
