Sounds bad. I am fortunate to have my first 2 ranked games played with decent players. No trolls, no flamers, no feeders, no leavers, all was good so far. However, I do support this thread. I dodge in normal when I have the need to. Ranked is no excuse. Unlike normal, Ranked does include a rating and I find it unfair for players who know they are going to lose based off of their team's behavior and picks. The leave mark added with the penalty and loss of Elo is too much.

Well the most annoying thing for me is that there's an afker in ranked champ selection. People queue dodge and that motherf**ker is still there when I get to anther champ selection.

Should not count as a leave in normal or ranked.

queue dodging a troll duo ( running smite & revive) on our team = leaver penalty & 10 minute wait. Someone at riot needs to get their head out of somewhere.

This is bad logic. I'm not trying to troll you, but just make a valid point. Consider in a game of poker (nl holdem since everyone knows that game) where you just sat down and on your first hand you get 79 off suit. This hand can win with some straights, but it can also be dangerous if you only hit top-pair on a board such as [ 9 5 5 ]. Against good players, this hand will not hold up, since they will only put money in (on such a community board) with hands that beat you, and fold hands that YOU beat (such as 88, or a worse 9). In the long run you will lose money by choosing to play it.

The analogy that I'm trying to make here is that you know with 79 you are putting yourself at a disadvantage unless you get lucky and your opponent is either stupid, or you hit a big hand. It can still win, sure, but in the long-run you are losing by choosing to play. With the system in LoL where ELO is determined by W:L ratio, why would you knowingly put yourself at a disadvantage?

Personally I think the queue dodging penalty is a broken mechanic, and needs to be fixed. I have no desire to play solo-ranked with something like this because it goes against competitive logic.

That's quite an incredibly well thought out and valid post in itself, but by crossreferencing to poker? You, sir, are pretty **** awesome.

I wish they had something which told me "if you queue dodge you will lose elo" when I tried to queue dodge. Everything makes sense now.

I agree that a queue dodge should be treated differently than an in-game leave. You have no idea the giggles I got from the, "It's eight minutes precisely of my time being wasted!/pompous rant" argument. Wow, a whole eight minutes? That must suck for you. How do you feel when someone starts feeding eight minutes into a game because they died three times since the game started? Because in case you didn't know, it ends up as at least twenty-five precious minutes of your time wasted. Precisely twenty-five minutes. Which one seems worse to you?

And while I'm earning myself downvotes and trollposts, gimme some more for this:
I could care less for anyone's belief that trolls/spammers/feeders/internet problems/emergencies/computer crashes are rare. It's all a matter of perspective. I'm sure it looks like an incredibly remote chance when you think, "Out of the thousands of players online right now, only some will have any of the above problems." Consider a few things that narrow that chance down a bit. ELO rating, the odds of a patch breaking something, the nature of the internet (re: trolls/spammers/feeders), the size of your premade or not so premade (with all levels and ELOs affecting your matchmaking), the broken nature of matchmaking and ELO hell...those are just to name a few. Any of those problems, along with internet issues and such have a much higher chance of happening in a pool of ten players, which is ultimately what you're looking at.

Do yourselves a favor and quit bashing people for not wanting to be thrown into a game that's a true waste of time and then turn around and ***** about wasted queue time. You look silly.

Why don't we spend more time supporting in general the balance of a game that seems to be the ultimate maze of teeter tottering numbers? We should always welcome improvements, and you don't necessarily have to think it's an improvement. That's ultimately up to Riot, someone just has to say it.

It's all about the numbers. Balancing champs, balancing matchmaking, balancing maps, balancing penalties...it makes my head hurt. I'm more than happy to take a concept and leave it up the experts (ie. Riot) to implement.
