Right, that's what I want to know. I let it sit open for an hour after the error message popped up and nothing happened. So I closed it out and tried again. After reopening it no longer stays at 33% but it quickly makes it way to 90ish% and then the error message returns.
grr.

Alright well I deleted everything Morg suggested. Running LoL and it's patching now. Hopefully this fixes it! As a side note, my OS is Windows 8, so it's not just Windows 7 people experiencing it.

I just don't understand why this problem is happening. I have been through multiple patches and never experienced this. The worst part is while looking for help on this most recent patch, I've found topics about this same issue going back to 2+ years ago... You'd think they would've figured out what was causing this and stopped it by now.

Morgageddon checks back in.

It seems that older installations, from when you installed the game round 2011 or early 2012 may have issues with updating due to the registry locations from the install. A fresh uninstall and re-install of the newest installation bypasses that and doesn't reference those registry locations anymore.

Should you not have the bandwidth or time for a complete re-install, there is another way around it. If you have access to a friend's PC/Laptop or have another computer in the house that has League of Legends up and working, you could copy the entire directory from one computer to the other, bypassing the update. It's not a fix per-say, but it should get you up and running on the most current installation.

First off, thank you very much for checking in on here, Morg. It's pretty cool to see a Red actively helping with this on their own time (I'm guessing)

That being said, what's kept me from a fresh reinstall is the worry of the same issue happening during a reinstall as in the patcher (it continuously stopping and giving error messages) I would hate to think I'd have no client at all and be even more stuck than I am now. Is there any chance of that happening? Or would that for sure have no issues? (Assuming no firewall or anything else stopped it)

Alrighty, well. Deleting the specified folders didn't help. I'll try reinstalling completely though I had originally installed League on my PC when I got it in April of this year.

Thanks for at least addressing the issue.

However sever people in the other discussion are Mac users, including myself, would you be able to post something about that or should I just send a support ticket?

I've completely deleted everything and reinstalled, and towards the end I still get an error message.

Thanks Morgageddon! I had a laptop that hadn't been patched in a couple months, got this issue and found the thread. the pvp patcher solution worked for me first try.
