Some Easy Troubleshooting Steps:

SMC reset:
Basically the power management of the computer, some people have found this to resolve slow FPS issues.

NVRAM/PRAM reset:
Simple reset you can preform when you restart your computer, resets things like sound and screen resolution in some models as reported on the forum.

Create a new User
It's possible the issue could be within your user account. Lets create a new one and launch League of Legends.App from the finder to see if this resolves your issue.

Mac OS X 10.6: Creating a new user account (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH6651)

Feel free to suggest any quick checks we can add to give our mac community better access to this info.
