~Carry Guide to Gangplank~

Summary of guide:

- Start off with high chance to critical strike and extra mana
- Become a viable carry mid game
- Become a viable high damage, support and carry end game

1. Runes

9 Greater Mark of Malice +0.93% critical chance = 9 * 0.93 = 8.37% critical chance
9 Greater Seal of Malice +0.42% critical chance = 9 * 0.42 = 3.78% critical chance
9 Greater Glyph of Intellect +11.25 mana = 101 mana
3 Greater Quintessence of Malice +1.86% critical chance = 5.58% critical chance

Total from runes at level 1: 17.73% critical chance and 101 mana
Total with Brawler's Gloves at level 1: 17.73 + 3% + 8% = 28.73% crit and 239 + 101 = 340 mana

2. Summoner Spells


Flash: is the single most imporant spell to help you with your greed or recklessness as a burst carry.
Exhaust: Use to help you gank better in 1v1 or to disable in team fights.
Ghost: Another very useless spell that helps you escape after scurvy, chase for last hit parrrley and just
general 600 movement speed when needed.

3. Summoner Mastery

21/0/9 is the best damage build.

4. Gangplank's skill selection based on level.

1.Parrrley
2.Remove Scurvy
3.Parrrley

4.Raise Morale
5.Parrrley
6.Cannon Barrage
***(This is the most imporant time to get at least 1 kill)***

5. Builds:

Carry build: (High Crit, High Damage, +5Gold Item/s)

Notes:
- Average Gold earned per game for Gangplank is around 8000-9000g
- Don't get the complete set "Boots of Mobility" before Cloak of Agility.
- By the time you have Infinity edge you should have 17.73% + 8% (level 11) + 2*12% + 20% = 69.73% Crit
- By the time you get Soul Shroud you should also get golem buff to bring you to 15% + 25% = ~40% cooldown reduction.

Avarice (12% Crit)
Avarice (12% Crit) / Boots
Boots of Mobility / Cloak of Agility (18% Crit)
Infinity Edge (20% Crit)
Atma's Impaler(20% Crit) / Soul Shroud (+500 HP, 15% Cooldown Reduction for all)

Closing Statement:

Just because you have the best Gangplank build doesn't mean you can win the game. Be a team player and after lvl 6 make sure you stay close to at least 2 other champions. Preferably a nuker and a tank. Now go kill that **** ******* Teemo.

I play gangplank often enough. Personally, I find you can get enough +Crit chance without runes. I stacked + Crit Dmg in Red and Yellow slots, as well as Quints. This ends up being roughly 45% Crit dmg. Coupled with Infi, you're rocking our an extra 100% crit dmg. If you're getting enough kills, sword of the Ocult is also a worth while item. Roughly 1000g, for something that stacks up to anoter 50% dmg, and 50% crit dmg.

My item build often looks like this:

1) Meki Pendant + Health Pot

2) Philosphers Stone
3) Avarice Blade
4) Avarice Blade
5) Avarice Blade
6) Avarice Blade
7) Avarice Blade
8) Boots of Mobility
9) Infinity Edge
10) Black Cleaver/Phantom Dancer
11) The other one of the above

Just personal preference though.

Avarice Blade make pirate too weak mid-game, which is where most games count anyway...

Just personal preference though.
Avarice Blades are only good if you buy them before the 10 min mark because of the added +5Gold. Remember most games last between 25-45 minutes with an average of 35 minutes.

Usually I can get a phil stone, and 1.5 blades within a 10 minute mark. If played properly, I find pirate can farm insanly well. Last hit parrley every time its up, and between melee mobs + 1-2 kills before 10 minutes. Iv never had an issue.
