Hello!

I have been playing League for years now. I love playing, watching the rise of LoL, and the growth of eSports (largely with RIOT's help) and it's definitely a dream of mine to help contribute to everything. I am currently working in the IT department for a large global company, but have a very wide skillset - BA in Psychology, years of leadership experience through the military, and a large amount of varied CS training (networking, security, some programming, etc.).

I truly think I could bring a unique perspective on design and/or operation to RIOT if given the chance, but sometimes it can really feel like a crapshoot getting to that point. Do you have any advice on how someone who is not a master designer, artist, or famous personality can get noticed/get their foot in the door?

Thanks again for taking the time to keep this thread open!

The Player Support Behaviour Specialist role appears to be a very soft-skills focused role, but at the same time not all soft-skills/transferable skills are made equal. Having come from a service industry background, I have established that that alone might not qualify me for this particular position. It's definitely worth a shot!
Worth a shot indeed! Thanks for the reply

Hello Riot Chezai,

Would it be wise to address a cover letter to you or just use something general like "To Whom It May Concern"?

Hey NaughtyTaco,

From the information you've provided, it seems as though you have a very diverse set of skills and experience. That in and of itself will catch the eyes of hiring managers. To make it through the process, you have to prove that you are indeed as awesome as you seem on paper. It's not about being a master designer/artist or famous personality. Everyone starts somewhere and there's a place for individuals of all skill levels at Riot Games [think "Battle Training --> Challenger"].

One thing I've been repeating constantly in this thread is that you should focus on what you're passionate about. You mention being able to 'bring a unique perspective on design and/or operation'. This doesn't really touch on passion but more so on interests. If you're passionate about a lot of things, try and narrow down on your top X fields and match it up with your skillset. You'll have a much easier time custom tailoring a resume and cover letter for that position. Hope this helps!

Hey Mandaari,

The standard opener is "Dear Hiring Manager" but feel free to get creative!

Just happened to see this bumped to the first page thisevening, and remembered reading through it all a few months ago I just wanted to reiterate how helpful it is, and point out that this is a real bread and butter form of community interaction that I appreciate.

Maybe I'll see you, Chezai (or other assorted Rioters who've poked their heads in here) at my on-site interview soon (tm) !

Just wanted to shout out I applied for an internship position in Game Design for this upcoming summer! It's my 2nd attempt, but I'm really hopeful this time! I'm hellbent on being the next Rioter intern that gets the career afterwards. >:3

So I hear you're looking for new lore writers (via Reddit of course, but I digress), where might I apply for that as your official "Career's," page does not have anything listed yet?

I absolutely love writing short stories (and being creative in general) and feel that I would be a fantastic fit for your company. I also love to find problems rather than just waiting for them to pop up.

Would your official Linkedin group be the way to go for that or is there another avenue I should pursue?
