The buffs to botrk were centered around helping ADC's against bruisers early season 3 because properly played bruisers didn't just disrupt the back-line, they completely demolished them. It got so bad high elo players were starting to test out double-bruiser bot-lane as a legit and effective strategy (who can forget the infamous doublelift rant).

There have been a lot of power-shifts and nerfs since then so maybe botrk is too strong now, but I think the active is still necessary for adc's facing a high mobility AD team-comp. Due to the popularity of AD mids lately it's scary to think of having the active made being made unavailable to ADCs because we'd be in a situation where we'd be getting ripped apart by Zac-Zed/Naut-Kha-zix/Jarvan-Jayce etc.etc. every single fight with no exceptions.

Being completely unable to influence the game is not fun and why botrk was buffed. If nerfs are needed they have to be really carefully considered.

there was no late game, it was just reckless dives all day because you have an extra 1,000 health, no fux given

you couldn't farm because the enemy would always hunt you

This item was made in mind also for ranged adcs, so they have something against the dominant HP stacking bruisers facerolling with warmogs.

Of course that isnt the case anymore nowdays, but the item should stay for adcs, it isnt exactly better than BT, so i think its fine, would be a shame to kill the already narrow item paths of adcs.

Blade of the Ruined King
Recipe changed to Bilgewater Cutlass + Pickaxe
Cost increased slightly
Now Grants:
+55 Attack Damage
+12% Lifesteal
Unique Passive: Melee Attacks and single target physical damage spells deal 4% of the target's current health in physical damage. Ranged attacks and multiple target physical damage spells deal 2% of the target's current health in physical damage.
Unique Active: Deals 15% of the target's maximum health in physical damage and heals you for half of the damage dealt and slows them by 30% for 2 seconds. If you are melee the slow duration is doubled and you steal the movement speed for the duration.

So basically you want to change it back to how it was, and make it worse for ranged carries?
Removing the attack speed would immediately cause zero ADC's to pick it up in the first place.

what's wrong with the blade? it's on-hit passive is weaker than a B.F. sword if a person has <2000 hp.

who has <2000 hp? adc, support, probably the apc

if you have 3000 hp: 60 damage per auto attack

60 * .35 = 21 damage per auto-attack with a blade of the ruined king.

Where did I get .35 from? 35% resistances is a really low % and many champs will achieve this naturally through leveling up. And yet.. even with such a low %, the BOTRK still only adds around 25 damage per auto-attack.

So you want the item riot introduced to ADC's to deal with bruisers/tanks to be melee only now? Wut?

Hey, here's a crazy idea...

Let's make an item with just the hp shred, and leave the ****ed up nuke and LS for gunblade/cutlass.

Oh wait...

AND IN OTHER NEWS...

First of all, your math is wrong. 5% of 2k is 100. BF is 45. Armor reduction is applied to all physical damage, not just the bork pasive. More importantly, the passive is in addition to:

+25 attack damage
+15% life steal
+40% attack speed
+Active that it should not have

All for the price of a BT, with a convenient build path, and it fits in a single item slot.
