This seems like an easy fix that would work well. Why hasn't it been done?

Because Riot hates melee champs for reference check Olaf.

I kid of course, but in reality I'd guess the reason they left it around is because they want ranged ADs to have options against hp stacking/resistance stacking enemies and they removed Madreds in S3 because nobody liked it.

Unfortunately I think they overshot the mark a bit and instead of just introducing a solid tank shredding item at a relatively high price point they added an extremely cost effective sustain and tank shredding item at a moderate price point with desirable stats and an active that makes ADCs weep for joy.

This coupled with nerfs to AS reductions and nerfs across the board on tank itemization makes the item much better for ranged than it has a right to be and in my games in S3 it's been a very common pick on at least 1 champion per game if not more.

Because it was originally designed for both ranged and melee to soft counter health stacking. Only thing that's causing it to be problematic is the active.

I think it was that S3 transition was to give ADC or Marksman now Diversity in what they build.

alot of melees use botrk to catch people to get to melee making it proc on next melee atk is bad idea

Diversity will NEVER exist in LoL.

It exists in DoTA because almost everything is an active item.

In LoL? LOL look at what is most cost efficient and go with it.

adc still were able to crit big hp targets to death late game.



Also hp is nerfed now, no reason to bortk to be ranged.
