Huge Lag Spikes during games

Recently while playing games every 10 or so minutes I will have a huge lag spike to around 2000 ping (usually around 20 ping), then disconnect from the game for just around five seconds, then reconnect and my ping will be normal again. I've played on multiple internet connections, both at home and at friends' houses, and the issue is always prevalent, I'd really appreciate some help on this matter as it happens every single game, and is a huge issue.

My system specs are:

OS 10.8.4
2.7 GHz Intel Quadcore i7 processor
16 GB of ram

I've done a completely clean install of league of legends, and the issue still isn't solved.

I've been having the same issue. My ping is typically around 80 but sometimes my ping spikes to 1000+. I've even experienced times where it went over 20,000 then the game completely stopped working and it just said reconnecting.

Macbook Air 2012 13inch
System Specs:
Mac OS X 10.7.5
1.8 Ghz Intel Core i7
4 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3

Run this analysis when you start to detect a problem:

If you post the results link here I can help you analyze what the problem might be.

All 3 of you have massive buffering issues. This will create 1 second or more of lag in game (when it gets over 5 seconds you get disconnected).

Common reasons this is occuring:
- Large downloads going on in the background
- uTorrent/Steam both use MASSIVE amounts of bandwidth
- On shared network someone may be using up your bandwidth (my roommate does this everytime he turns his computer on and steam starts up)
- Interference on WiFi networks. Especially bad in dorms/apartment buildings
- Your ISP is cheesing you out of what you paid for. <--- Most difficult to solve but sometimes the right answer (although technically ISPs does have Latency based contracts they just have bandwidth contracts with you)

@InfamAce: On top of the problem you also have significant packet loss (2.0%) you should contact your ISP about this. Are you on a wireless connection? have you tried a wired connection?
