If you think Sona is OP, try playing a game where Sona and Soraka are on the same team. MWAHAHAHA!

I had a game like that on Friday. I was Sona, and then someone on my team got Soraka. Between our team's ability to heal and buying aura items, the enemy team got steamrolled so bad even though they had two tanks and we had none.

Supports FTW!

Its not sona's fault people build like **** and think SR builds are valid.

The problem with sona's win % is she's not super frustrating to play against at any given SECOND. She just dolls out dmg whilst having 0 animation to stop for any of it, and heals at a ridiculous rate, with 0 animation. It's like the infection that grows over time, and kills it's host. Slow painful process, but none of it entirely memorable.

The sustain and stun is nice. surprised though that she has such a high win rate :/

Sona doesn't win because she's OP on ARAM.

She wins because she is the counter to what ARAM is.

She cancels ARAM's harass, she has ranged damage, she has AoE CC (easilly gets whole enemy team), she has movement boosts for the whole team making the walk to the enemy nexus a breeze.

Same thing for Janna, except Janna has a harder time negating enemy harass.

You'll never see some of the most OP champs with a high win rate because bad players (ie: 90% of LoL) just can't make good use of them.

A totally faceroll champ like Sona is a sure win for just about anybody.

I think this has a lot to do with people not treating Sona as a threat, so when she walks up to the front like with her Q ready ready to drop it, her power chord, and a lich bane on one person possibly with a death fire, people don't bat a eye.

That does more damage then Poppy does with her Q. That may also change with more experience playing HA as another poster noted. People simply don't treat her as a real threat and more as a support, which is a mistake.

You also can't sit back and let her heal up her team either, which many people do. The longer she's out of combat with her team, the more time she has to heal them. She definitely accels at prolonged poke sessions. She's a primary focus target.

This is a bit disingenuous- you're not a pro, or in Challenger or Diamond, you don't get to make those sorts of statements. You're one of the 90%, just like me.

It's rare that you'll ever get the champions you've mastered in this mode, assuming you've unlocked 20 or more characters. Sona's relatively low bar for the minimum mechanics required to make her useful is a selling point for her, not a knock against the player base. If you look across the top 15, it's pretty clear that spammable sustain is one of the strongest abilities to have, and Sona's heal is about as spammy as it gets. Crescendo is arguably one of the highest impact ultimates for team fighting available.

The problems starts, when Sona doesn't run popular squishy AP build, but builds tanky/support/AP items. She still has nice harass, her heal is still OP, but she's also stupidly hard to catch and kill.
You also should hard initiate vs strong healer. But Sona can speed up her entire team and stun entire enemy team.

She's just stupidly hard to deal with in ARAM and it doesn't matter, if good or bad player has Sona, cause she requiers 0 skill to play.
I'm also wondering how high win rate a hero needs to reach, until people will start thinking, that maybe he might be too problematic, and we need specific nerfs or ARAM bans, even if it's random mode. 80%? 90%? Apparently 70% is perfectly fine for you guys.
