What this thread is about:
Can playing ARAM teach you (as a player) something towards becoming a better player in Summoners Rift?
Does skill play an important role in ARAM?
How much of a players individual skill and talent goes into winning/losing an ARAM?

What this thread is NOT about:
GG Noobs.
It's ARAM, it's not serious.

Playing ARAMs makes you 1000x better at dodging skillshots and it improves your teamfighting

Actually playing in different maps does help learning champs better. o3o
Skill does play and important role in ARAM.
For the last one, it's dependant on the champion and the player's skill with that champion, in addition to their function in that map.

I don't think there's that much ARAM can teach you that can be applied in SR, other than teamfight engagement stratagems.

ARAM exposes you to unorthodoxed builds and teaches you to dodge skillshots.

It has taught me that every single champ has the ability to build AP.

Things like auras would be a great addition to ARAM.

Yup.

I'm too scared to pick a free champ so I usually just snag what I know in Summoners. In ARAM I actually learn matchups better because I'm seeing things firsthand.

It doesn't do a damn thing to make you better at SR, in fact, no where near that, since the item list is so paltry compared to SRs, the only thing it can make you better at is playing the champions you get, now of course, your mileage may vary in that department.

depends on what the player is lacking

from my experience, laning is the most important thing in SR as of now due to how most games are decided by who wins the laning phase.
