how to make atmas midgame viable

I love atmas. great armor. good crit. attack damage that rounds out to good in the right hands. however... its only good by the time its late or late mid game.

why? avarice blade. the weakest of the gp5 (strong in my opinion, but weak to everyone else) so my idea is that, upon upgrading avarice blade, keep the 2 gold per kill passive. its already a low gp5 item you build into mostly late game or situational items. the 2 per kill wouldn't be overpowered without the gp5 passive, and allowing it to keep it would make it more wanted earlier on in the game, rather than making the summoner wait to "earn its place in gold".

Would it be OP to change avarice blade's +2 per kill to +10% from all sources (except gp10)? It might be possible to add this but leave a cap, such as max +4 per minion, +30/15 per kill/assist? 19 for dragon and 15 per turret are fixed values so won't need a cap.
