As the title states. The combination is overpowering, as I was playing Taric paired with a Draven. Our ADC, Draven wasn't bad, but he could never really get anything off due to Leona's stun rotation, and instant burst by Varus.

Leona's Zenith blade+Varus Hail of Arrows=Leads up to all skills spam

or low health

Leona's ulti+Varus ulti=GG

or another intiation

Leona's Shield of Daybreak+Varus hail of arrows=Leads up to skills spam

Please any answers and suggestion are appreciated.

Note:I stun Varus to stop the burst down, but Leona goes right ahead and start up her Esclpse, or Shield of Daybreak, or Zeni Sword for the stun on ADC, and Varus recovers to burst again.

1) Don't get caught out. Leona' initiates are both skillshots (R or E). So, stay away from the bush, hide behind creeps, and if you see her ult, react quickly away from its center. You can deal with the slow but not the stun. Now, keep in mind, if you get double ulted, you'll likely get killed; that's simply how the game is balanced. But with some good positioning and skill shot dodging, you'll be well on your way to winning the lane.

2) Make it a farm lane. Draven can out-duel Varus at any point of the game so don't make him 2v2 unnecessarily; all these skills flying just makes it more annoying for him to use his Q. Instead, make him farm much more than Varus and back away.

3) Stun Varus the moment Leona initiates if possible. Then, wait for Grievous Wounds to wear off before healing him. Your level order when playing super defensively should be R>Q>W>E so as to make sure you give Varus enough armor.

4) Draven should run Cleanse so Varus and Leona can't get too craycray

5) Block Leona's skillshots for Draven. Stand in front of Draven at an angle where Leona's Zenith Sword will only hit you (of course, Draven will want to be further up so that she can't just walk up to him and Shield of Daybreak stun Draven right after that).

6) When Leona is going for Draven, try stunning Leona instead. Varus can't get off his DPS if Leona doesn't keep him there with CC so make sure you're defending Draven by preventing stunlocks.

erm Leona's zblade passes through minions and pulls her to the last person it hits. standing behind minions and getting the support to stand in front of the adc will not help in this case.

Edit: IMO the best way to counter Leona is to establish bush control. by having vision in bushes you get to know her position and if she is going to initiate on you. It's the same way to counter blitz i think..

Janna, Nami, Taric.

Inform your support to stun the enemy ADC when she is stun locked. This will allow for even trades.

Janna is the best at this, as she can usually hit both of them with her Q, and keep the damage minimal with her shield.

It's good you pointed that out but I think he has the right idea otherwise. It's going to be tricky to be really aggressive as draven/taric against that lane. Also if draven didn't take cleanse against that lane he's taking a really big risk.

Use a combination similar such as Caitlyn/Alistar or Kog'maw/Taric and that should even out the fight

Yeah, leona's blade will pass through minions and it will stop on the last champion hit, so there is no point for you to stand in front of your adc. The advantage you guys have is more sustain. Use that. As far as farming goes, good luck and you might just want to not catch all of your axes.
Leona was my first main and she counters draven so well it isn't even funny. If you go for your axes every time she can easily just throw her blade over there to where you are running, then boom you are dead. So just be careful and you will probably lose that lane a lot since they are really good counters for you two.

Honestly... You'd probably want to play safe in this lane. Both Varus and Leona counter Draven. You will be very hardpressed to even squeak a kill out during laning phase if the Varus and Leona are halfway competent.

Play safe and farm, farm, farm as much as you can without suffering too much poke from the Varus. Bush control is definitely key to remove one angle of the threat, but with Varus' own slow skill, it can still be fairly easy for Leona to close and engage. Keep an eye on her.
