I purchased a brand new mac mini about a week ago, Here are the specs:
The model is from late 2012
Version = 10.9.4
Processor = 2.3GHz Intel Core i7
Memory = 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics = Intel HD Graphics 4000
Storage = 1TB SATA Disk

On my first try attempting to install the game (Version 4.16), I downloaded the .dmg file from the site, opened it, put league into my applications folder, and ran it from there. It began to download fine, but got to 4% and began slowing down. The kpbs slowly dropped until it reached zero. I read around a bit and found that it was best to just give it some time, so I left it overnight. When I checked it the next day, it was still at 0kbps and no farther than it was last night in the download.
I continued to search around and found that it could have been caused by AppNap, so I disabled AppNap and restarted the download. It got much farther this time, but, to my surprise, slowed down to 0kbps and stopped at 86%. The big problem with this is that people normally have their download stuck at 33% or 99%, while mine gets stuck at a different percent each time. I tried again, and it slowed down and stopped at a different percent. I am currently trying to install it for the fourth time after deleting everything I could find that was League of Legends folders.
I also get no errors or anything, it just keeps attempting to download it while downloading 0kbps.
And just so you know, it definitely isn't my internet.
Unfortunately, I have no logs because I haven't installed the game :/
I used to play League of Legends on my old mac mini, but it stopped working at patch 4.15, as I was having the same error.
Please, if anyone knows any way to fix this, please help me.

Same here. It stops at 87% then drops 0 kbps.

Hmm : /
Mine doesn't stop at a certain point...
Does yours slowly go down to 0kbps? Or does it just drop from what it is normally to 0?

Edit: Just tried a fifth time and it was downloading fine, but I looked away for about 60 seconds, then looked back and it was at 0kbps... at 87%
I'm going to try a sixth time and let it run overnight.

The results of the sixth try:
I left it to download overnight. I got home from school, woke it up, and found that it was at 7%, with about 300kbps. Immediately, it began to drop kbps, eventually reaching zero.
So... $#@%, it's definitely AppNap.

But! I finally figured it out!!!!
You have to disable AppNap for the LoL Patcher, not just the League of Legends application!
Here's how to do it:
When LoLPatcher shows up in your dock, right click it and select 'Show in Finder'
This opens give a finder window with 2 things shown: LoLPatcher, and LoLPatcherHelper.
Right-Click 'LoLPatcher'
Select 'Get Info'
Check the box that says 'Prevent AppNap'
Do the same for LolPatcherHelper
Actually, I'm not sure if this works yet...
But it's something to try!

Dammit! AppNap Has ruined my day again!
My sixth attempt is a failure, stopping at 45%. My computer was asleep, I came back, woke it up, and the kbps slowly dropped to 0kbps, just like last time. So I guess you have to watch your download?
So yeah... That didn't work... but it seems to still be failing because of AppNap...
So AppNap is invincible and ruins League?

I definitely agree that it has to do with OSX Mavericks. However, it was running fine on mavericks for me before patch 4.15 (or whichever one changed the look of the patching client). Always remember that it IS NOT your internet causing the problem.
So, since my new mac mini is broken and I gave up on it, I went back to my old mac mini. I tried to install LoL twice today. The first time, I let my computer go to sleep as I was away doing something. I came back, and it began dropping to 0 KBps...
This was a result of AppNap EVEN THOUGH I made sure to check "Prevent AppNap" for the LoLLauncher... So somehow, preventing AppNap doesn't actually prevent it?
So I then knew that if I was going to be able to download it, I would have to watch it and make sure my computer didn't go to sleep and break the download. So I did. I did some homework and did other things while making sure my computer never went into sleep mode. I also kept nothing else open to ensure that AppNap did not make it inactive because some other application was running over it.
So it now seems that there are two completely different problems that can give you the same result... My download failed this time at 87% (now officially named the percentage of death). It dropped very low in KBps a few times, but didn't go all the way down to 0KBps until about the middle of 87% with 230MB remaining. I have absolutely no idea what causes this one. This problem is contained in a specific file that it is downloading most likely, and will be ~extremely~ hard to fix by anyone.
This is really making me sad...

@RiotBrentmeister @Riot
I'm putting that in my reply so that if Brentmeister searches for his name, he will see it.

Okay, so here are my launcher logs from the second time I ran the patcher today today. I managed to upload the launcher log and the helper log, but the patcher log is MASSIVE, far to big to upload.
What should I do?

Edit: Okay, I found the end of it that states that the download was a failure, I'll paste it here.
