After being tired of the sparse eSports scene in New Zealand our group of gamers came together to build Aoraki Legion, and it's tournament brand Aoraki eSports.

This tournament is open to New Zealand and Australian, and their respective territories, based players.

The tournament format is based on Double Elimination and is planned to be held on the weekends, starting at 1pm Sunday and then on-wards up to 6pm (UTC +12). But this is subject to change.

We are currently finding sponsors and finishing building our website but any show of interest on the Facebook page would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Hammerklau here, one of the other lads working on this project.

In the interests of transparency we're a group of uni grads working on this wanting to give opportunities to hardcore - semi hardcore gamers experience of tournaments or the serious scene.

We have a long way to go, but there's always a start point.

Fellow kiwi here, yeah, glad to see the disturbing lack of eSports being addressed.

Are you thinking 5v5's and 1v1's or just teams?

Our first aim is an open 5 v 5 best of 3(depending on numbers) double elimination tournament, which means two chances to stay in the game.

If demand depicts I think the team would be up for something similar to the 'Best Riven NA' tournament TSM did, but more casual but we're just starting up so a good amount is able to melded.

At the moment we're aiming for interest via liking the Facebook page and soon (we just finished working on the email verification / register code last night) the ability to register on the website and sign up there.

Hey guys

I'm living in Hamilton, NZ.
I'm glad to see you guys are passionate about League. It would be great to have a place for NZ players to hang out and become a community. It gets a little boring playing by myself D:
