Most of the time this is because of legal restrictions in your country/state (usually having to do with giving/receiving prizes).

If I understand correctly, all contest entrants must utilize the submission kit linked to on the contest entry page. It is not clear to me though how exactly this is supposed to be used. I have it opened up in Photoshop and I have read the instructions on the template. Based on those instructions, the intention seems to be that contestants fill the left-most, open segment of the template with their art-work and utilize the two t-shirt images on the right-hand side in order to display the front and back of the t-shirt. If I understand the instructions clearly, that is nice...however, I feel as though I am missing something in regards to the usage of the color layers, Black, Charcoal, Silver, etc... What exactly is the purpose of these layers? Are design entrants supposed to cut away segments of these layers in order to craft an image? That is, rather than being able to use say, the paintbrush tool, the artist is constrained to cutting away portions of the color layers already in order to reveal lower ordered layers. To clarify, if the artist wishes to display a line of the color Silver, but his base t-shirt is Black, he must display both the Black and Silver layers and cut through the Black layer in order to view the small segment of Silver. This question is further complicated by the last instruction of the template, "5. If you are not using the back shirt picture, turn those layers off". If these color layers are not used and the instruction and J!NX logo layers are turned off, then the artist is left with a blank image space corresponding to the larger size of the two requested by the submission entry details. To summarize, I am a noob. Help plox.
No, you aren't cutting out anything. The different colored layers are different t-shirt colors. You can see what your design will look like on the different colors. If you open up one particular shirt color folder (click the arrow left of the name), it will have many sub-folders within it. You are supposed to edit the layers named "ZOOMED/FRONT/BACK ART GOES HERE" within the folders.

Agreed, was all set to get started... But wait....

Sooooo NT, SA, WA, NSW and Tas can enter but Vic/Qld/ACT can't?

I'm struggling to understand why =\

So for this contest you have to be able to draw using the computer? Or what? Cause I have probably one of the best possible ideas, but I have no talent when it comes to coloring on a computer ;_;

Am I understanding the contest right?

so we just create a new layer under Front/Back Art Goes here, or directly edit on that layer? and draw our work in that small area of t-shirt template? T-shirts in real sizes are quite big, how does that small area catches all the details? For the zoom-in part, it seems we are only allowed to use the left half of the canvas since the front/back of the t-shirt samples took the right half. How does the Zoomed areas work too? Do we enlarge a portion of our work on t-shirt or the entire design? How does that area fit in 2 pictures of front and back zoomed areas? Can we submit multiple submissions when we ran out of space to draw? Example. one submission for enlarged front pic, 2nd submission for enlarged back.

There sure are many ways to work within the areas provided on this sample. But I am not sure the ways I thought to produce the work is valid in this contest. That's why I have so many questions about it.

Ok, I'm a little short on time right now so I didn't read the ENTIRE thread. Can someone please tell me if I can draw a submission by hand and then scan and upload it?

There are several art programs that will let you save as .PSD, even if you don't own photoshop.
