They are not up... melee carries are not meant to initiate... tanks do..
You need 2 tanks in your team in order to have a phys dps melee carry

Why not just go 2 tanks and a ranged carry ? Garen+amumu up front blocking people, and a ranged carry in the back.

Well, thats what xin and jax(not actual jax... the pre-nerf one) are there for.... their flash skills will get them in range and easily kill any ranged carry...

But oh wait I forgot about shen and rammus... yout phys dps carry gets taunted and gg

I'll rephrase that, people actually started buying it and it's a cheap way to get a massive boost to stats you need as a caster.

Closest thing melee has is Mallet, which is rather less useful :\

I'm pretty sure the main reason is that you're getting in range to be CC'd.

Ranged champions are like "LOLOL you can't touch me"
Melee champions are "Must get in range so that I am within their spells' range!"
Its a great thing for tanks, but melee carries DO NOT want to be the target of 10000 spells and CCs.

Actually Banshee's veil is the melee equivalent of a caster's RoA While manamune is the AD equivalent of a caster's Archangel staff.
