anyone else getting these over the past few days? i know there have been a lot of server issues, but in games that run correctly i'm the only one experiencing them. this thread was put up right after either 4.10 or 4.11 and describes the same thing:

http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com...4664154&page=2

here's what i had written in that thread:

"i've been experiencing the same issues since the patch (not necessarily a cause, but it's been only taking place since around that time). i'm in new york, (unfortunately) using comcast. i'm generally very eager to blame them for issues but this doesn't seem to be related to a problem on my end. everything's still running fine in terms of connection speeds, but in game i generally have massive spikes lasting between 3-10 seconds, during which my ping will go up to anywhere between 600-2200 for no particular reason. this only seems to happen every other day, but when it does the game is, needless to say, unplayable.

results from the netalyzr section on network buffer:
"We estimate your uplink as having 260 ms of buffering. This level may serve well for maximizing speed while minimizing the impact of large transfers on other traffic.
We were not able to produce enough traffic to load the downlink buffer, or the downlink buffer is particularly small. You probably have excellent behavior when downloading files and attempting to do other tasks."

aside from league, there's no significant traffic that should exist during games, so buffer issues don't seem likely anyway. i live alone, no one else is on this network, my browser is closed during games, no file transferring or streaming. the buffer may be small, but i don't think it'd be so small as to be problematic in this instance.
same exist issue since about 5 days ago or so. it wasn't the 4.14 patch since my game was running fine for a while after that, i also repaired the game just in case anything was up and i'm still getting the huge random spikes during every game. are other people experience this?"
i'm the only one of my friends who uses the mac client so maybe it's some sort of issue with mac. haven't gotten anywhere trying to solve this on my own.

this also doesn't occur in bot games, only live ones.

i tried playing on latin america north and got the same problem. since these servers and the north american ones are in completely different places i figured that the problem was local, so that there was some sort of network issue before any of the data reached any part of riot's infrastructure.

when i did a few traceroutes, though, my local hops were fine and all of the worst hops were the ones about 14-16 steps into the route, which is the exact opposite of what i'd expected. i'll find the traceroute logs tomorrow and paste them since it's really late, but i'm not sure at this point where to go. i'm reinstalling everything tomorrow and i'll see if that does anything.

i've taken out the initial steps of these traceroutes since they're all well within what i'd expect, but even the end hops aren't too high in terms of ping. my usual in game ping is around 90-100 so none of these numbers seem particularly high. there are tons of hops that are timing out though, but i don't know whether this is an issue or is occurring due to rate limiting:

traceroute to 216.133.234.62 (gave up after a while since there were tons of timed out requests):

I have the same issue! Though my friend with the same MacBook Pro and using the same internet does not have the same issues. Any idea how to fix this?

well i messed around with my router a bit and reinstalled the game, and everything's been working fine for the last few days

i did both at once without playing a game in between though, so i don't know if only one of the steps was necessary, but those are the ones i'd try. careful if you have item sets though, because mine got deleted even though i saved and imported the preference files

So just reinstall and restart my router you think?

i did more with the router than just restart it, but yeah, that'd probably fix the issue. if not we can cross that bridge later

since it's the smaller of the two steps, i'd restart the router, try a game to see if anything changes, and only reinstall if the issue persists

This post helped. I called my ISP and they upgraded the firmware on my MODEM (not router) and it fixed pinging on one of the tracert hops. I live in the dreaded Suddenlink Texas ISP area.

this issue is back now after 4.16.

as much i dislike comcast, i seriously doubt that someone there is monitoring league of legends patch updates so they can reroute my internet traffic in the most inefficient ways possible. everything else regarding my connection is still fine, meaning that during these patches, something has happened that causes traffic to be routed in a way that causes a ton of packets to be dropped.

this is now 3 times the game has been rendered unplayable (for days on end) within a 2 month span. that's not acceptable, and it shouldn't be on me to try and solve this issue virtually every time a patch comes out. i'd like to expect that somebody from riot can give this a look now.
