My last two games of the night had the laning phase end at around 15 minutes, when heroes were all level 9-11ish. From then on, it was suicide to attempt to go 2 feet past your tower (or even be at a tower with less than 3 people, since there's no need to even dive towers, they can just be tanked). The game ended at 50 minutes when the rest of the team finally surrendered with only 4 people above level 15. It's such garbage waiting around with nothing happening and getting wrecked if you even attempt to walk out, even as a team, since the others will have the initiative.

Why can't we actually have 2v2s with wandering ganks in the lanes past the 15 minute mark? Incentives to stay in the lane through increased exp/creepgold won't do jack to stop this since you just die if you try to lane. The only real way to fix this is to make minions in a lane without an enemy hero drastically stronger--a hero corpse can count so that killing doesn't automatically mean a tower kill. It's just boring as hell creeping through the jungle hoping to stumble upon the enemy team and notice a split second earlier than they do when there's absolutely no action for 5-10 minutes at a time.

Yeah it kinda sucks. I'm hoping a map will come out with jungles that DON'T go between lanes. A map like that would force laning and play very differently than the current two.

Agree, such map will bring variety to gameplay and will enforce to push and lane more.

A map like that would encourage even more passive play, and more 5m ganks really... because it'd be either one or the other.

A) Because all the lanes would be closer together to facilitate this, ganking would be much easier.

B) Because all the lanes would be closer together, turtling would be even more viable than it is now and the game would be a giant snoozefest.

destroying the viability of 5man roaming gank squads is not the goal. Allowing other strategies to be viable compared to it is.

Some people enjoy using that strategy and they should be allowed to. However there should be more than just one strategy. That is the ultimate goal.

Here's how it works.

Watch their gank squad. If they go top, you go bottom and push like hell while they're looking for you. If they go bottom, you go top. If theyr'e mid and they go MIA or you think they're heading your way kill the creeps quickly and fall back to your turret. Then ping them if you see they're about to attack and defend with 3 players while the other two push a free lane on the other side of the map.

I can think of some outside the box ideas. So this is crazy and I was going to save it for another post a recommendation for a map, but what about items that can be placed (and take a while to have an effect) or areas on the map that increase one teams damage by 100%. This way a 3 man could run back to their safe area and defend it against a 5 man. The idea is while towers would die, there would still be safe places to defend from. Meanwhile, the five man could try and take out the 3 man or continue onto their base ignoring them.
