For Fizz's Urchin Strike (Q), it says that the ability can trigger on-hit effects. What on-hit effects is it talking about?

On-hit effects are effects that are applied whenever you use your 'auto-attack' or whenever you use your basic champion attack. In his case, Fizz's auto-attack is when he hits people with his trident and deals basic physical damage.

Most abilities do NOT apply on-hit effects, but some do. This is because they are intended to be abilities that are more like auto-attack enhancers, rather than completely unique abilities.

On-hit effects can be any of the following:

The 'red buff' slow/DoT (damage over time) that comes with killing the lizard elder in the jungle. This is the buff that is, [obviously] the red one. It is in the bottom half of the jungle for blue, and the top half for purple.

Malady (the item's) magic resistance reducing on-hit effect.

Teemo's E's poison DoT.

Miss Fortune's Impure Shots on-hit effects.

Black Cleaver's armor reduction effect.

Applying on hit effects means anything that would apply for your autoattack is used with the spell. This includes lifesteal and item effects like sheen

Black Cleaver is no longer an 'on hit effect,' as it applies 'whenever you deal physical damage.' While it might not seem like a huge difference, there are a few cases where it matters. Specifically, iirc, both Poppy and Twisted Fate have an ability that turns their entire attack into magic damage (thus no longer proccing the new Black Cleaver while still proccing on hit effects).

(You also don't want to confuse people by making them think anything that procs BC will proc other OHEs.)
