Looking at the lores of Syndra, Zed, Diana, and Morgana. I decided to create another character in a similar vain like them. This time, however, is a Demacian character who finds the Demacian code of honor and justice to be corrupt when he realizes that Demacia aren't much different than Noxus when it comes to enforcing their values and find Demacia to be tyrannical and start a rebellion in a colony owned by Demacia (Kulipo Isles). Lore is almost similar to Lelouch from Code Geass, but not the same. Gameplay wise, he serves either as an ap mid mage or ap carry bottom where his autoattack are scaled in AP. So without further adieu:

Valis, the Freedom Fighter of Kulipo Isles

Voice actor: Johnny Yong Bosch

Attributes: Ranged, Carry, Mage

Lore:

The Kulipo Isles is located off the shores of Valoran in the Conquerer's Sea. This beautiful archipelago have islands with different environments from jungles, volcanoes, grassy valleys, savannas, and a snowy mountain. Due to the vast environment in the isles, the city state of Demacia established a colony in the Kulipo Isles where the local population are trained into mercenaries and soldiers in the diverse environments.

That is to say, the Kulipo Isles are no longer servant to the Demacia and instead an independent nation of freedom and democracy. A rebellion, led by Valis, exposes the dark side of the Demacian code of honor and justice.

Valis was once a son of a Demacian noble family who he was exiled to the Kulipo Isles while his younger sister was taken to Ionian instead. His exile was because his father was a vampire and thus due the Demacian strict code of black and white morality, his parents were executed. Valis and his sister were about to be executed by Demacia for their dhampir blood. However, a reasonable Demacian prince asks Garen and Lux to take the children into exile by separating them into different locations to escape the harsh Demacian law of justice.

Valis never knew of the prince's noble intentions of protecting him from the Demacian law. However, he saw the unjust of the Demacian law of honor and justice after watching an execution of two girls in Kulipo Isles through the gulliotine; one who refused the mandatory conscription of Demacian military, and the other for stealing food because her family was starving. He also saw the other unjusts of the Demacian law in the isles. The local population were heavily taxed into poverty after the war in Kalamanda against Noxus, crops were taken away from the locals, the population face severe discrimination from the Demacian nobles and soldiers alike, and voices of the harsh living conditions in the isles by the locals were silenced with execution.

Realizing that Demacian code of justice is blind to poverty and suffering of the unfortunate and noting that the way the Demacians enforce their justice isn't much different on how the Noxians enforce their "evil" code, Valis sees the Demacian justice to be corrupt and tyrannical and calls for a revolution for freedom and democracy as "true justice." He and the Master of Shadows co-founded an alliance known as the Alliance of Freedom which consists of outcasts of their respective societies that found their old societies they live in as unjust. Together, Valis, Zed, Morgana, Diana, Syndra, and Annie led the rebellion in Kulipo Isles under the banner of Alliance of Freedom and overthrew the Demacia rule of the islands. The rebellion was a success without any outside help, and thus Kulipo Isles became an independent democracy.

That is to say, however, democracy in the Kulipo Isles come with a price. For the revolution is extremely violent with thousands of people of both Kulipoians and Demacians alike. The Alliance of Freedom ruthlessly execute the ruling nobles (man, woman, and children) and the governor of Kulipo Isles and any person who sided with the Demacian code of justice during the revolution. No compensation were made to the remaining Demacians. Instead, Valis ordered the remaining Demacians in the isles into three generations of slavery so they understand "the suffering the Kulipoians had to deal with." Valis justifies the said executions of the nobles, stating that "they deserve their fate."

Valis willingness to break the strict black and white morality lines established by Demacia and establish himself a shade of grey during and after the revolution was thanks to him mastering the dark ancient magic during his exile when he was a student of Ryze. Combining the dark ancient magic with his dhampir blood and Ryze's magic teaching, he lost most of his moral senses and establishes himself as a morally ambiguous figure with a strong spirit of hatred against Demacia.

That is to say, despite mastering the dark ancient magic; Valis never sees himself as either good or evil. In his words, he stated that "one man's hero is another man's villain; and a freedom fighter is willing to break all moral boundaries to commit evil acts for the greater good for everyone." True to his words, Demacia and Ionia view him as an evil force willing to bring chaos and destruction around Runeterra. For the majority of the poor and the Kulipoians, however, they see him as a hero and liberator entitled as "the angel of the 99%."

Valis has entered the League to represent the people of the isles with the 4 to 3 approval vote with Bilgewater abstaining; Brandle City, Piltover, Zaun, and Freljord supporting his entrance; and Demacia, Ionia, and Noxus opposing. Valis sees the entrance of the League as an opportunity to spread democracy and freedom around Runeterra and his open window to achieve his long goal: the destruction of his hated Demacian society and replace with a society of the majority and free.

"The Demacian code of justice is tyranny and suffering. Freedom is true justice. And I will bring freedom across the world by killing thousands to free the millions suffering."
