While i was reading a book about battles and events in in Persian history, it seemed like alot of league of legends is related to it. For example, a small island in Greece attacked in the Greek-Persian wars was called "Noxus" (or Noxas). The city that revolted in Persia causing the 300 battle was known as "Ionia." This one is a little off, but "Damascus" is similar to "Demacia." And the champion Darius could be named after "Darius the Great," one of the most famous Persian leaders. Is this a coincidence or does riot have some fascination with Persian history?
