I have been testing and testing and testing again on the PBE and racking my brain and doing all kinds of weird math and I have given up trying to solve the conundrum. so I am asking you where do you see Amumu in the upcoming changes.

by this I mean give me some sort of example build where he would not shine but be bearable early game to transition to more mid game AP and late game tank that he is. because a lot of the new jungle items minus the wraith collar that is subpar does not seem to suit him at all

tldr: I am at a lost to where Amumu now stands after lots of PBE testing and would like some good example builds to try or give some thought process behind him.

update I think I finally found some good working stuff (improvement suggestions always welcome)

Hunter Machete - 2 reasons I got this item 1st when combine with the flat red I notice quite an increase in my clear time back to pre change jungle 2nd it builds into the all well transition into tank spirit of the golem

Philo - gold + shurelias eventually

Boots - basic

Haunting Guise - magic pent % is sooo good at early (now) + it gives more HP why not and it builds later on!

Sorc Shoes - more magic pent ( now you may be wandering why not merc well you will see if you keep reading)

Spirit Stone - good bye machete

here when things start to shape up

Spirit of the Ancient Golem
+500 HP
+50 Armor
35% tenacity
and I still do extra dmg to jungle mobs ! + other regen stuff - well rounded item

good old Aegis of the legion comes next
Liandra tear - dat 5% HP burn so good with his W
Shurelias
tier 3 boots
WoTa or Bulwark

Conclusion this may seem like an end game build which it is but its solid and it can be work several ways around and several resistance components be changed as situations see fit.

Amumu was once a plausible jungler in S1 jungle.
S3 jungle isn't nearly as bad as S1 jungle, he'll be perfectly fine.

I jungled amumu in the new jungle(I jungle amumu a lot overall) and he does really good, no worries on him. With the exception of the machete I build amumu the same way,
boots + gps(with machete) to my regular build, sunfire cape, abyssal scepter, rylais then whatever
