Just some ideas on how to improve swain. These ideas will reduce his damage but increase his ability to CC and help his team

The gist of the changes:

Passive slightly boosted at level 7 and 11

Q and E become persistent spells increasing in mana cost per second, similar to his bird form and taric's Radiance.

W get slightly longer root at 5, with silence as well, but loses all damage

E increases damage from all sources instead of Swain only, but for a lower amount

R gives some resistance and armor, and lowers upkeep costs of Q and E while it is active.

CHANGES PROPOSED BY $h0tkarl$

PASSIVE
: Increases effect of his base mana regeneration to 250%/300%/350% (levels 1/7/11) regen after killing a unit or killing/assisting a champion for 6 seconds.

Q: Turn it into a persistent spell, costs 10 mana to activate, mana cost increases by 15 per second per second. 6 second cooldown after stopping.

W: Make the duration scale: 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3 seconds root. Make it silence as well as root. REMOVE DAMAGE

E: Turn it into a persistent spell, same mana cost and increasing mana cost as Q. Increases damage from all sources (not just from swain) by 15% (down from 20%). 6 second cooldown after stopping

R: Bird form grants 20/40/60 armor, magic resist, and magic penetration. Bird form reduces upkeep costs of Q and E by 10 per second per second while active. Crows prioritize low HP champions.

Way too complicated. All he needs is a passive that actually affects the game in some way, and/or the cost of his ult to come way down. If he could actually stay in ult form for the duration of a team fight (with a build that makes sense, I mean), it would contribute a decent enough amount of damage to supplement his other abilities.

You can't have a spell do damage and then none. It just doesn't make sense for it to do any damage in the first place.

Be kind of overpowered, actually. Theoretically every one of those (except W) can be on forever, causing MASSIVE damage. Stack AA and it's GG for everyone else.

Best fix for Swain:

Repick as Morg.

When you're sharing a lots of functions with arguably the best caster in the game you had better be amazing at what you do differently.

He's fine IMO. You just can't play him like any other caster. His job is to get Max CDR, A mejai, And survivability/utility.

Actually, Q and E will drain over 1600 mana in 10 seconds, without even counting the ult
