Lore

"It was...alien. Unnatural. It moved with a grace and ferocity that no creature should, and tore apart the guard with a cold precision, like it was...trying to figure out what he was made of. It was...terrifying." -Captain of the guard

Little is known about the starborne terror that is Zeric. Arising from a crater after of a meteor storm, the metallic monstrosity immediately made a beeline for a Demacian outpost. The guards took this as a threat, and one broke rank, charging at the creature. He didn't last long. After the resulting slaughter, several summoners were sent to apprehend him, armed with their most potent magics. Surprisingly, he didn't attack the summoners, instead offering to return with them to the Institute of War.

Despite their rocky introductions, the summoners at the Institute found the alien to be surprisingly civil, offering an exchange of information. In return for knowledge of Runeterra and its denizens, he would offer information about his own people, the Aerick. The Aerick are a race of interstellar machines, they themselves the remnants of a long lost civilization, which they believe to have visited Runeterra long ago in the past. Zeric himself was sent as a preliminary scout, to gather all the information he could and report back on whether the Runeterrans were of interest, and whether the floating pyramids of the Shurima desert were of The Precursors. Whether they come under a friendly banner, or one of war, is currently unknown.
