Why do people think Darius is OP?

He also snowballs very hard. Get a kill or 2 early and your lane is lost without help.

He pulls people out of position, does good damage, and and is nightmarish to lane against as a melee.

It's mostly his laning- it's just so miserable to get near the guy.

Ho-hum.

You also can't build one chain vest and resistance boots and survive lane by abusing pots like you can if, say, a riven is dunking on you. he does magic, physical, and true damage.
I also agree that he is tough to counter in lane. His spells and AA do physical, his passive does a sizable amount of on-hit magic damage, and his ultimate does true damage. Perhaps Riot could change his passive to physical damage? Seems a bit out of place (and unfair) for it to be magic.

They say he is op cause in a sense he can Use his ultimate for free kill *steals* because of the refreshment of the CD if he does the finishing damage with his ultimate, So he can use it 5 time's in one team fight in the right scenario

Darius is pretty much the definition of a low skill high rewards champion to play. All of his skills require little in the way of positioning or forethought, and the fact that his pull is indiscriminate and can pull past minions (IE no standing behind minions to dodge) takes away any real feeling of strategy while playing against him. Also, you can shut him down in lane but all it takes for him to get back on the playing field is a lucky teamfight where he dunks a few of the enemy team.

OK I'll bite. Darius is unfun for a number of reasons. 1) his passive does magic damage. This makes it particularly hard to counter him early. 2) the Q feels like it does way too much damage. 3) he gets free % armor pen and a hook on the same skill. 4) he has a great attack timer reset that also happens to be a humongous attack speed and movement speed slow. 5) the dunking ult. Now honestly the ult wouldn't be a problem if he didn't do just so much damage for free.

hes so anti-fun. his passive makes him hard to itemize against, and if you build armor not only does his passive rip through you but he has passive armor pen on his E. also how easy he is to play but any ranged top lane like teemo or anyone who can kite/has cc could own him too.

he's even more annoying when they have karthus/darius because if u don't focus karth you are gunna lose, if you focus karth and not darius karth will ult after death and then the executioner does his work. he can break teamfights with certain combos and until teams are organized he pretty much stomps. he's like kat in that way; a total pub stomper.

he potentially makes 10 people feel boring in a game

the 4 other on his team gets kill steal by him

the 5 opponent is obvious

he gets bored as well, because he is not hard to use, and if he gets kited, he is bored as hell

He can't be counter built due to free arm pen, ad scaling magic damage DoT, an as slow, and true damage. He also builds stupidly bulky and still does high damage from his high base damages and well... true damage.
He's a bruiser that counters other bruisers, meaning he in him self counters adc's, ap's, and tanks if he gets close. AKA he counters EVERYTHING in close proximity.
Being kitable doesn't mean squat if your team has a good initiate tank like hec/malphite.
Oh and his mana costs are pathetic.

He's not OP in the 5v5 scenario because he can be kept back easier and can be cleaned up easier. He shouldn't be allowed into the fight until your team has already started winning it a bit due to him taking awhile to get into things, what with no movement abilities whatsoever (besides bleed speed increase, but you can't apply that while away from the fight). But when you look at him in 3v3's he's just insane. He can't be cleaned up fast enough to stop him from stomping on your team, and neither can his teammates. When he gets into the fight his team should all be at half+, making it easy for him to overpower the other team.

AKA he's annoying and only works because of the 5v5 setting.
