Placement matches.
The reason I have barely touched ranked since season 1.
In season 1 most of my placement matches were toxic with feeders and leavers.
I ended up in a crappy ELO after only the first few games.
For season 3 I'd love it if placement matches were optional.
I don't want to gain and loose 30-50 ELO for my first 20 games. I'd be fine with gaining and loosing 10-14 ELO.
This way if I did end up down at a low ELO I'd know it wasn't from 5 placement matches with bads/trolls/leavers.

Just play immediately when the season starts, if you're higher elo you won't be placed with the 1k people who will be reset to 1100

Does the reset go off of highest ELO or current ELO.
I also wanted to play ranked before season resets happen but I'm still in placement matches and don't wanna drop from 1200 to potentially 900 my last placement matches.

Reset is the average of your current Elo and 1200.

So for the formula, (current Elo) + 1200 / 2.

For example in my case it would be 1800 + 1200 = 3000 /2 = 1500.

Edit: In your case it would be 2450/2 = 1225.
