Potential cause of Tanky DPS dominance: Lower damage levels

Champions that can build heavy durability while still outputting respectable damage seem to have proven quite popular on this map, and I suggest that lower damage levels is the cause of this.


First off, these our four consequences that I claim come from the map's current setup which make Tanky DPS bruisers favorable:

A. Lower game time, and thus less gold, keeps physical and magical carries from scaling to their average Rift and Dominion levels- where they outscale bruisers- as well as contributing to lower damage levels as a whole.

B. Less damage to focus down a bruiser due to 3v3 team-fights, as opposed to Rift's 5v5 and Dominion's 4v4.

C. Drawn out team-fights due to lower damage levels, suiting bruisers.Lower game time, and thus less gold, keeps physical and magical carries from scaling to defeat bruisers as well as contributing to lower damage levels as a whole.

D. Less crowd control to protect a carry due to 3v3 team-fights, as opposed to Rift's 5v5 and Dominion's 4v4.

E. Heavier emphasis on easy ganks puts frail carry champions without an escape mechanism in a tough spot.


To solve this map's skewed meta, I hold that addressing lowered damage levels is the prime concern.

For frail carries to truly have a role in this map, they need to complete full builds as they do in Rift and Dominion, or they will never scale sufficiently to keep bruisers in check.

Carry damage outscales Bruiser durability at high gold levels.


Dominion also has a shorter game time, but carries are still able to end with complete builds due to passive gold generation.

Riot does not necessarily need to copy Dominion's solution to the lower gold pool, but until the gold income is brought up to Rift and Dominion levels, early-game specialists and bruisers will continue to dominate the meta.

If the majority of carry gold is to be acquired through farming, then the lanes need to be made safer from ganks: otherwise carries without strong escape mechanisms will never become properly farmed.


Tl:dr- Raise gold income to make carries more viable and bruisers less dominant.

I'm saying that gold levels which do not allow Carries to outscale Bruisers is also contributing to the problem.

It wouldn't solve all of the map's problems, but it would be a start towards leveling the playing field among champion types.
