"Jayce
Thundering Blow
No longer deals any flat base damage (still deals % Max Health damage and has a bonus Attack Damage ratio)
Fixed: Stun no longer sometimes lasts beyond the knockback duration
Acceleration Gate mana cost increased to 50 from 30"

They aren't game breaking nerfs. He was pretty OP in many situations prior to this adjustment. He is still a great hero who will shine in the hands of a skilled player.

Most Riot nerfs involve reducing the base damage by 10 or 15 points or so. They ****ing reduced it by 40-160! I've never seen such a huge damage reduction nerf in the history of the game. Can anyone else think of any other damage nerf that is even close?

Then they nerfed his mana cost on the GATE!? Why not increase mana cost of Q instead? Why gate?

Jayce is no longer viable... Mana was an issue before with him (though manageable), now you've increased the cost of his escape/chase mechanism, and destroyed a couple of his best combo's (the damage his hammer brings). I've never thought of Jayce as OP, having played against him and as him, but whatever. I've shut people down with him and been shut down, just like any other champ. His skill level is just at such a level that many people can't play him and when they get pwned by someone with the skill level to play him and don't know how to counter him they QQ. Same with Lee Sin.

I think they were great strides toward balance for Jayce. I'm not refunding him... He still had insane utility and provides serious match up problems in lane.

The nerfs to Jayce are hardly game-breaking. They left his poke damage through the Power Slam combo, and the base damage loss from Thundering Blow isn't terribly damaging (you should pardon the pun.) You still have the poke potential, and you still have the % health +knockback. Personally, I leveled Thundering Blow last anyway - the mana regen and firepower (in hammer and cannon modes, respectively) were simply more attractive to me.

Don't play Jayce because other people think he's OP; play him because you like the playstyle. If being able to use (and thus needing to manage) two opposite ability sets is interesting to you, by all means try him out!

Just do a lot of Dominion before you pop into Summoner's Rift and try juggling 7 abilities while you lane. =)

Because they're nerfing the combo, not the attack itself. This should be obvious...

Not even a big nerf. Jayce is still a very strong champ so pick him up. Don't be afraid of this nerf at all.

They Nerfed his damage considerably. He can use Acceleration gate far less now to combo dmg, harass, and escape, greatly reducing his effectiveness in all those. I'd say that's a fairly significant impact, not to mention reducing his early game significantly and allowing that to cascade into late game.

I dont get where people are seeing this nerf on his E as "hardly a nerf to its damage. 20% hp of 2500 is 500 damage. Plus the base AD damage, so around 130-140. Thats 640 damage. 160 base damage removed means they nerfed its damage by 20%. Twenty. 20 is not a small amount. It was even more of a nerf early on, where 40 base damage is nearly 25-35% of its damage.

Im not saying it wasnt needed, because it was. However, people cannot not honestly say it was a small damage nerf to E.
