this is a different map, not a different game mode.
and if you MUST keep the Altars, which i REALLY hope you don't, please add wards back into the game or make the Altars visible at all times on the minimap.
Indeed, if we wanted a game to just face smash other champs, we would play Dominion. Honestly, it is all players do there. The Mini-SR was almost perfect, just needed small tweaks. It will be a sad day if this goes through to give SR players another "quick and dirty" escape from 5v5... Sad day for TT...

Why are we fighting for these alters again? It literally feels like it was an afterthought addition that someone said was "cool" and "awesome" and "would be a great addition" to the map. This is one of my big negatives about the current map. Why are is Riot trying to reinvent the wheel?
You're fighting for the altars because it gives the team that controls both an advantage over the opposition, which continues to build until you contest and capture them yourself.

It will separate people who know what they're doing from low level derps who never understood Twisted Treeline OR Summoner's Rift (for that matter) in the first place.

Team fights -must happen-. Considering Vilemaw's power level compared to the previous, these advantages must be built on.

This is why solo queue Twisted Treeline would never work against decent players- You're just going to lose because you think that it should just be a 1v1 battle to the death without minions, towers or any other objective.

By the way, they're -nothing- like Dominion. Point captures have existed for many, many years. Incorporating it into an objective that is fought for isn't a bad idea, and all the naysayers have barely any experience with MOBAs as a whole.

Pay attention to the direction Summoner's Rift is going. Did you not watch the championships?

EVERYTHING is centered on early and mid game advantages now, and Twisted Treeline is Riot's exemplification of that.

How about no. If you're going to post the -exact same thing- six times in the same thread, just stop.

What is the point of quoting peoples' posts if you ignore what they're saying? Kwizzeh understood what the altars do. No one has said that point captures are a new idea. No one has said that it should be a 1v1 battle to the deaths without objectives. No one has said that teamfights are unnecessary. No one has denied that the altars give your team an advantage.

I don't know who you're arguing with, but you're right. He does sound like a derp.

Love the work done on the new map, and hate the Alters

This is looking more into a new mode then Twisted Treeline. The whole issue with alters seems very forced upon. "Capture them or lose (complete) control." Do they honestly believe we are that dumb that we won't contest things like Red Buff and Dragon from the Old TT? Because that's what these alters feel like. An afterthought incentive meant to force us to team fight. I do not believe they really thought of the implications of it once we, the players, got our hands on it.

Point capture modes have existed for years. Heck, I've played most them in the last 13 years, some good (Shoutouts to CTF, Wolf:ET and RtCW) and some bad. This falls in the "bad" category.
