Youmacon 2012 website: http://www.youmacon.com/index
What is Youmacon?
Youmacon is not only Detroit's first and only Anime Convention, it's also one of the fastest growing fan conventions in the country! With over 10,000 people last year coming to enjoy our 24 hour programming, great industry guests, and cosplay contests, we've had to expand this year yet again.
Youmacon 2012 will be held at both the Renaissance Center, and at Cobo Hall.
Along with the amazing content of the convention itself. Youmacon is also known for something else. Its game room and this year it is looking to be bigger than ever.

Stoppage of Play:
Unintentional Disconnection: One player losing connection to the game due to problems or issues with the game client, platform, network, or PC.
Game Leaving/Intentional Disconnection: One player losing connection to the game due to player’s actions (i.e. quitting the game).
Server Crash: Multiple players losing connection due to an issue with a server or platform.
Stoppage of Play Procedure/Pause Rules:
A player, who is experiences technical issues, on any team may call for a game restart prior to first blood within the first 5 minutes of the game (i.e. before the timer shows 5:00). The player must be experiencing a hardware malfunction (e.g. monitor, peripheral, etc), a physical disruption (e.g. fan interference, table or chair breakage), or a configuration issues (e.g. runes, masteries, or summoner spells are not properly applied). The player must declare the issue in public chat or to a tournament administrator and then intentionally disconnect. Once the player disconnects, the game is considered null and void and should be restarted unless a tournament administrator determines that the conduct represents unfair play. If the game is being played on a Tournament Realm, then the Pause Rules apply (see below)
If an unintentional disconnection occurs within 5 minutes from the start of the match & before first blood -OR- a player’s client crashes or fails to load after champion selection, then the match must be restarted. Otherwise if the unintentional disconnection occurs after those milestones, the game will continue as normal. The crashed player may reconnect into the game as soon as they are able. If the game is being played on a Tournament Realm, then the Pause Rules apply (see below).
If a player intentionally disconnects without specifying a reason, then the game will continue as normal.
If a server crash occurs, then the tournament director or head referee will decide either between (a) restarting the game or (b) awarding the game to one of the teams. As a guideline, a game victory will only be awarded in a situation where one team was on the verge of certain defeat (e.g. A nexus was about to be destroyed). If the game is being played on a Tournament Realm, then the Pause Rules apply
Teams are required to check in 60 minutes before the start of their scheduled match. Teams that fail to do so will be penalized under the following rules:
30 minutes late – Forfeiture of first game
1 hour late – Forfeiture of entire match
If a player pauses or unpauses the game without permission, it will be consider unfair play.
Teams who repeatedly abuse the pause function may be subject to game forfeitures or tournament suspensions based on the following rules:
First offense will result in a warning by the tournament director.
Second offense will result in forfeiture of the game.
Any more offenses will result in forfeiture of the entire match.
The following actions will be considered unfair play:
The use of any cheat program and/or map hack program.
An intentional disconnection
The use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings
Intentionally allowing an opponent to win a match.
Unsportsmanlike or disruptive behavior such as inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player or tournament official.
The use of a game bug that is determined by the board of referees as being unfair.
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the tournament director or a group of referees, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss, or a disqualified from the tournament. Prize money may also be deducted as a % from the offending teams at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director in accordance with tournament policy.
During the course of the event, the board of referees may determine other actions to embody unfair play.
It is at the discretion of the tournament director to modify any of the rules above to ensure fair play between teams in a tournament. The rules could potentially be amended in the following cases:
A different patch/version release is used and modifications to the rules are necessary to ensure fair play.
Players are suspected or proven to be engaging in unfair play or collusion to fix a match.
Changes to game settings and/or operations guidelines are necessary due to differences between online and offline tournaments.
There are substantial delays to a tournament that would prevent it from concluding in a timely fashion as required by a live venue.
Maximum Roster Size: A maximum roster size of 7 is permissible for 5v5 online or LAN events. Tournament organizers may adjust the maximum rosters size as they see fit.
