Can someone explain why singed is so good in 3v3?

Singed early game sucks and if you take him out early game, as in barely any cs. he is nothing.

If he does farm and get fed, his kit is meant to just run in with so much resistance/damage that all you can do is run or get caught and die :P

From one of the best 3s players themselves.

Singed is just difficult to deal with period. Do what you can to win the game without trying too hard to chase him down.

The main factor is that Singed gets to build all mana/AP gear and get free health, which makes him more gold efficient for TT than pretty much 99% of other champions. Add in the fact his kit makes him essentially immortal, and can play well in any team comp. After he makes 6 and gets a Catalyst early/RoA, he can officially solo a lane with complete impunity and 1v3, while his teammates split push and/or jungle clear. As Sam said, you kill him early and stop him from getting his Catalyst/RoA, and Singed will remain in his Magikarp form, as opposed to his Gyarados form once he gets an RoA. It's pretty much make or break from 1-5 vs a Singed.

Part of the problem is a lot of people do actually zone him at the start of the game. They think they did a good job putting him down and then say "well, we can leave him alone for a bit, he won't do anything in a teamfight if it breaks out, and we can take free objectives." And then they leave singed to farm alone for several solid minutes and then get surprised when he comes back into the game and makes a difference. Most singed players know to just wait it out.

He's like Olaf in that once he acquires his core kit, he is officially battle-ready, regardless of how behind he is.

See, this is what perplexes me. His two options are against a top lane that will likely rip him in two, or in bot, where he'll be 1v2 most likely. So how will he get farmed and fed?

Singed top lane or bot lane plays the same. You take Fling if you know you can win, or you take Q trail if you need to play defensively. Start Boots+pots and you simply CS your way to a Catalyst. If you know you can win (or see an opportunity to do free damage), you Fling+Q and run behind your minions to safety. You just did ~200 damage in less than 2 seconds without any real effort or risk. If you are playing defensively, you CS and then Q as you get harassed and retreat. In that scenario, you likely dealt an equal trade, or possibly won your trade. In terms of working with a partner, Singed is one of the best partners for a first-blood, you Q, Fling, Exhaust, and your jungle friend gets the first-blood 100% of the time, because he still has his summoners up.

A smart Singed only remains in enemy range for the exact amount of time he desires, and no longer. Singed will lose 100% of his laning matches against ranged harass, which is why you want to send AP champions or ranged carry types like Jayce to utterly wreck his ****. Singed goes to Fling Jayce, and then Jayce hammers his face in and R combos for 30% of Singed's hp. Singed's only response is a /sadface.

I went complete Azubu Frost Shy build
Boots 3 (Later into swiftness or defense boots)
Hextech revolver (later into WOTA)
Rod of Ages
Abyssal Scepter
Thornmail
Force of Nature
This build is really annoying for the enemy team because early on the ROA and hextech keep you alive and last game your poison wreaks havoc on them aswell as the last minute defense making you almost invincible with your ult.
Forgot to mention you have to be passive until you get the ROA and just roam and farm, if you dont farm this will not work.
