Lvl 6.... I hit the enemy with this... my jungler slowly walks past his ward and we wait for it to run out.

Imagine being the victim... unable to do anything just watching your death slowly come. Not fun.

How about a duration scaling:

so like 2/5/8 seconds. Makes early solo laning less of a nightmere

Can also be used for the enemies advantage, per example ezreal. used arcane shift a few seconds ago. he is trapped by this ultimate and 8 seconds later arcane shift's cooldown has refreshed.

He is able to escape by blinking over the wall

Don't like it:
Their ADC is sooooo fed! Let's freeze him for 8 seconds late game while our ADC goes to town on their team.

This is imbalanced I'm afraid. You can freeze a champ in lane while your team moves into position for a pretty much secured gank, or you can freeze the AD carry bottom lane and kill the support easily. There are too many situations that this could be taken advantage of in.

Though it is an interesting idea.

Maybe something closer to exhaust but with a longer duration and without the damage nerfs if you're looking for hard cc on a summoner spell. Exhaust doesn't last very long but it also has a damage nerf so if its balanced then a similar spell would be as well most likely. A 5-6 second slow perhaps?

You mean like Riot? Obviously Dota wasn't the first game to have abilities that do different things (derp) but it came long before LoL, and if you compare Dota with LoL then you'll realise that most skills in LoL have a counterpart in Dota. It's only inevitable.

There are a few that kind of resemble it.

Atropos the Bane Elemental's Nightmare puts a target to sleep (himself, an ally or an enemy) and within the duration of its effect anyone that attacks the target gets the sleep effect applied to them).

Harbinger the Outworld Destroyer's Astral Imprisonment banishes a target from the physical plane for up to 4 seconds. The only ability or attack that affects that target is his ultimate.

Shadow Demon's Disruption ability also banishes a target for 2.5 seconds and then creates 2 clones of them that last several seconds afterwards.

Auroth the Winter Wyvern has an ability called Cold Embrace that places a target ally including himself inside an ice block that prevents them from taking any physical damage (they still take magic damage) and regenerates a fair amount of health.

So... if it did have scaling, a 2 second prison at level 6 would literally just be a stun without being able to deal damage to the enemy target? Sounds worse than a normal skill to me to be an ultimate.
