Not really. More like you've just wasted mana and 20 seconds. It's not mortal peril.

Well he's not without risks. But c'mon. What safer support is there? One grab is an instant kill. And if you miss a grab? Whatever, just wait for it to come off of cooldown again.

Saw enemy Corki Valkyrie away over a wall toward his tower on the other side to avoid 1v2 engage. Blitzcrank runs up to the wall and Rocket Grabs after him. Gets Tiamat Fiora instead.

The risk is, while his long cooldown grab is down, he has almost zero threat. If you whiff your grab, they can come out from behind their minions and be more freely aggressive (or they should be) for the next 15-20 secs. He has almost no peel but that grab. Most of the time without his grab he has to save his carry by running at them, Power Fisting the bigger threat then getting turned on and killed instead.

If you miss grabbing a Tryndamere that's about to last-hit your oom Cass, and you have the opportunity to grab them AWAY from them, you just killed someone because your whiffed your grab.

If you miss grabbing an ADC at low health for an easy kill for YOUR carry, it's a lost opportunity to be ahead of the enemy laners... which -could- prevent your adc from snowballing, which could hurt your team later on and even during laning phase.

If you miss grabbing someone before a team fight, you lose the opportunity of having an edge over the other team. If you grab a champion made to initiate who can do as such, then you royally **** your team over.

Blitzcrank is so incredibly high-risk compared to other champions that it's not even funny. He relies on the mistakes and unaware state of the enemy team. If they make little to no mistakes, you're going to have a tough time trying to overtake them.

A melee ranged champion with no gap closers (assuming you're bad and can't land grab) isn't a very threatening support.

Are you kidding me? Blitzcrank can zone enemies just by existing. Every second his grab is available is a nightmare for the other team.

I'm neutral in this argument, but...doesn't that apply for all skill-shot based champions? Ex: Low health champion is running away, you miss skillshot=you miss kill. You don't miss your snare on that Tryndamere, somebody dies, etc. The only special part of Blitz is the whole "accidentally grabbing tank/initiator" concept.

The only thing that's kinda "risky" about blitz is that he has no heals. As such, if you screw up your skillshots, you're at a severe disadvantage. Of course, that the case for all skillshot based champs as well.

If you were talking about Leona on the other hand.... That's the kinda support which requires balls of steel to play.

Wrong. Missed the grab? No problem, you'll get another shot at this game changing ability in 20/19/18/17/16 seconds. We'll even throw in a 16%/20%/24%/28%/32% movement speed buff that lasts 8 seconds to make sure you can get in, attempt the grab, and then get out safely if it fails.

Blitzcrank is one of the few champions that you can actively hurt your team with his abilities (by pulling enemies to safety/the wrong guy into your team). He isn't low risk.

Psychologically speaking, missing your grab just demoralizes your team, causes the trigger to rage, and ends up making a person or two afk. The negative connotation to missing a grab is hilarious.
