Its pretty bad when someone who plays vídeo games and gets payed 100k a year when doctors have to spend 10yrs+ and receive the same salary. Bahh im not complaining or anything I just find it kind of disturbing.

So what about someone who quite literally managed to not die from birth to age eighteen, came into a trust fund and magically "earns" ten times a year what the Doctor, all of his colleagues and the pro gamer's whole sport make?

People get money for stuff; it's hardly "bad" that one person makes the same money as another person with different circumstances leading up to it.

They only make so much because of competitions and the best in the continent. After they start sucking or their fame goes down they make almost nothing (which is usually within 5 or so years)

Doctors on the other hand aren't the best in the world, but they keep making money even after 30 years of it.

in the end Doctors have a better pay

What gamers are actually making 100k/yr unless they win world champs?

And yet (as sports players or tv/movie stars) they generate 10000 times more money than Doctors.

It's sad but it's not something tied to video games, and it's been going on for CENTURIES (arena fighters were already generating more money than doctors in ancient Roma).

Only a small portion of ''pro players'' will get paid, some won't get higher than 20k a year.

The difference is that doctors have security, it's not like their hospital is gonna get abandonned in a year or two. Games are different, they don't usually last more than a couple of years.(note: there are big exceptions)

side note: Hockey players in Quebec make more money per year than doctors, not sure about elsewhere in the world. I keep saying teacher and doctor salary need to go up.

It's getting worse - nurses and teachers.

But then again, we're living in a society where our pet food has a higher quality than our regular food. Where we pay lots of money to destroy perfectly edible food because it's too much and ruins the prices, while at the same time, thousands of people starve.

And don't even get me started on our financial markets...

But as others have said; It's more a problem with professional athletes as such. Pro-Gamers aren't exactly the best paid of those.

What doctor do you know makes 100k or less? maybe just starting out of med school or whatever, but 100k is on the very low side.

Secondly, think about how many people play lol. then the number who play pro. then the number who make over 100k. its not very many at all.

you pretty much just took the very tippity top of the lol hierarchy and compared it with the very bottom of the doctor pool.

actually with s3 no matter what the top 8 teams will get paid 25k to each player.

so no matter what they have a guaranteed salary.

not counting tournament wins or streaming.
