Hey, I was wondering what kind of builds are good for jayce? I know the pro players do a sort of a bruiserish build on him, but I'm no pro lol. So I was wondering any other kind of builds work on him?

Well I hate to sound like a jerk, but I'm sure I will. First off if I wanted to use an outside source for league knowledge, I would. Secondly i could just try to figure it out myself but I rather just be the big man and ask for help from jayce players, on here, then just blindly try and fail, fail, and fail again, dragging my teams down.

I am not looking for pre-done builds as a single build doesn't fit every situation that is why I am not looking at those sites. Mobafire even more so, I've seen some stupid **** that just flat out doesn't work there..I just wanted to know is tanky DPS the only valid build-type there was on him, or if there was more. Full tank? Glass DPS? I know I -can- build them that way, but is it -effective in general- so I know my options.

That is what I am asking, sir.

lol i'm sorry, i wanted to help you out since i'm not a jayce player. Try league craft out first tho before you blow it off. When someone give you a build, You can use the leaguecraft champion builder interface to see what stats you will have at certain points in the game. its not complicated at all, you can even plan out runes with it. This may be what you are looking for in a sense.

plz click here to know what i'm talking about. http://leaguecraft.com/builder/jayce/

this site mostly is not for pre-done builds but more for "i want to build" and experimentation. i don't like mobafire either tbh haha, but its a good place to start.

This will help you substantially consider your options because its more of a "tool" than a "guide".

Add me in game and lets talk about an optimal Jayce build that will work for you! Jayce is my main champion atm for 1850 elo ranked so hopefully I can give you some assistance on building and playing your Jayce.

Something I would not have figured out when I was new to Jayce, had I not been told:

Take your E at 1st level, Q at 2nd, and W at 3rd. After that priority is R > E > Q > W.

That Q may seem appealing, but your E in hammer form is your heavy damage dealer, your stun, and how you knock your target into the midst of your team, all in one ability.

Before 6th level, it's usually best to stay in cannon form and just try to last hit minions, occasionally harassing enemy champions with your cannon's Q. Switching into the hammer is advised only if you're sure you can jump in, get that kill, and get out alive.

Beyond level 6 you can be more aggressive, but keep in mind that your opponents have real ults now, and you don't. Your strength is your ability to combo them with more than most champions can throw back at you.

Always remember that hammer-form E. It's pretty much your best ability. Use it well.

I don't own Jayce, so I can't really give you "pro main jayce player" advice, but I can tell you a couple of things useful about him that I learned while playing him.

First of all, when you're chasing or running away, you want to use E (ranged mode) and R a lot, because whenever yo uswitch modes you get a speed boost momentarily. Hammer mode is your best bet for CC because that without rylais or phage ranged mode doesn't slow at all. You do however have to be careful when using your knockback because that it can and will save opponents if used wrong.

During laning phase you want to use your ranged version more so that you can get more creeps. When in a 1v1 fight, how you use your "ult" and your skill set is completely dependant upon how you are building/playing him and who you are fighting against. Jayce is great at chasing people down, as you probably have figured out,

Additionally, because of his low mana costs, you want to harass when possible.

That's pretty much all of my information from experience on him, but I hope it helps you
