Ping fluctuates per match

Heya,

Ok, i've spent an entire day trying to figure out what is going on and i've done numerous tests. I can't figure out what's causing it.

Basically, i had a Firewall problem with my Billion 7800N connecting to LoL. I tried Port forwarding as much as possible, spent 2 days trying to work it out. It just doesn't work... So i made a simple QoS rule connecting to 5000-5500. That worked...

Now, with or without the QoS rule, my ping has been fluctuating per MATCH.

For example, i play one game, loading screen says "270 ping". For the entire match, i play at 270 ping.

The next match starts and goes into loading screen saying "215 ping". For that match, i play at 215 ping.

Each match has a different ping. I wouldn't care if it was 10-15 ping difference as i understand that can happen, but 50+ difference per game? That can't be right.

What can i do? Where do i start?

I know that lately Ping has been a server-side issue. I will go into the loading screen with 30-50 Ping, but at random intervals in the game I will spike to 500-2,000 Ping. That normally doesn't happen with my connection, which made me look at the forums and find that it has been happening to a lot of people.

Although your problem is a bit different, it may be stemming from the same issue. I would suggest looking in the forums for an issue more like yours, because it may not be any problem on your side, because unless you share WiFi or Internet with other people, your Ping should not be drastically changing like that every match.

Here are two other threads about the same issue with a little more information: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=2595580 http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=2604769

So far no solution though.

Well i'd like to know if it's my end or there end.

I dont think my case is as severe as those threads as my ping only rises by 60 at max.

Also, the difference is that my ping will sit at 260 in the loading screen and stay at 260 for the entire match. Then the next match may be 220 ping..

It seems to me like some servers have higher pings than others but i want to be certain that this is NOT my issue and in fact Riots.

having same problems here, although I believe it's an ISP issue here. Freaking cox. I am speedtesting 2 cities in CA and get 5 times less download speed than upload speed. It's really aggravating because I hopped into a ranked game right after work. Bad idea> <

Im going to ring my ISP after work today and see if they can identify any issues on there end. Not sure what they can do but i'm already predicting that they will say "i see nothing wrong here, must be a game issue".

Then Riot will eventually answer my question and say "We aren't having any issues, please contact your ISP, disable firewall, update your modem firmware" and all the other obvious **** that i've tried lol.
